Try to ride within 40-50Kmph in top gear for most of the journey & i am sure 40Kmpl + will be easily done. Additionally you can opt for 5th gear (overdrive) for lesser strain on engine & slightly more FE.

Note: Dont expect these results on a 5-speed bore kit (4TL10). A 5-speed kit is rated at 14BHP & was more for power, you will be lucky if it returns a practical value of 35Kmpl in B'lore riding conditions.
hey guys, I have recently re-built my RXG 135 and I am running on 4TL00.I started using it daily since two months back and have been getting a consistent 51-52 KMPL. The calculation is, the ODO reading between reserve to reserve. Note: I don't ride above 60 KMPH and the ride is only on ring road.

50+ is a great mileage. definitely the result of the sedate driving that too on ORR. naice.

not for the sake of putting in my opinion - but to caution : a recently rebuilt rx just make sure you are not running too lean.

PS: hopefully soon you'll start enjoying the rx the way it is meant to be

hey sorry, I shouldn't have said "recently" It was built a while ego and didn't use to ride it daily, sometimes not even for about two weeks or so. As said started using it daily now after getting it serviced after 1000+ kms. It is still 3600+ on the ODO so I always feel that its recently built

              5. How to improve the lighting of my bike?

Ans: It depends on what is the brightness you are looking at. If you want to compare it with a car's headlight (Single ofcourse), then best option is to go for a reputed 90/100Kit with a 90/100W Headlight bulb for best output. Stator Coil rewinding with higer turns is another option, but the result may not always be as good as the 90/100 Lighting kits.

Please contact your local tuner who can do this job for you or source the kit from a reliable source & get it fixed.
I have a question here. I don't think 90/100 kit is a direct fit to the stock assembly, right? Has anyone tried this option?
what measures need to be taken care during this fit? what are the pros and cons?
I am really looking to enhance the lighting of my ride.

With experience, I would vouch that if the 90/100 lighting kit is made for RX, then it is a direct fit. There are kits available specially for RX. I got one from RDDreams and got it fixed on to my bike. Sorry, I would not be able to give exact details on the wiring job done and I don't think there was a complication as I had the install procedure to follow the set up. To me the kit was plug and play. You may check with the suppliers while buying the kit on the wiring job to be done. The lighting kit which bought came with magnet, coil plate and rectifier. I'm currently running on 55/60w Philips and it is worth upgrading from stock lights.

I would leave the wiring technicalities to the seniors to through more light.

Whoever said that, its 101% WRONG statement. BTW, what do you mean by stock assy? Stock assy of what part?

Wiring is simple, connect the neutral (blue wire) to neutral bolt; then leave out one connection (IIRC black), then connect green wire to white green & socket to socket. I could be wrong in explaining it here as I've done this work somewhere during last October or so. The wiring diagram is mentioned in a word doco on RDDReams & its more than a child's play.

Get it from RDDreams; myself & SriramEFunds have it powering our headlights & enjoy giving hard time to stock headlights of cars!!!

I meant whether it is just a plug & play or not.

Where else can I get the RDD lighting kit in bangalore? I tried their URL and it seems that without registering you can not get inside, I registered and waiting for the approval.

@Raghu, Since you are in Bangy, you can go to RDD directly and request for the kit.

I am using a 4 pole magnet for my 100 and the lighting is substantially better. Well not blinding but acceptable and not like a typical 100 candlelight.

Wants some knowledge on Porting and performance modification

I have a rx 135 with cat con silencer..Last year i wanted some performance upgrade on my bike so a friend of mine suggested bout boring the engine. It was my mistake that without knowing the actual thing i gave it for boring to one of his known mechanics. i was informed that my engine will b bored wit a 150 piston block.I was billed 6000 fr( Don't no if i was fooled??). After the boring my engine started sounding diff and there was a sound like one in an open electric circuit which the mechanic told that it would be fine in a months time and it never did..one year down and its still makes the noise. My engine pick up was slightly up and was doing a good 100 kmph with two people on-board. now what i want is some knowledge bout porting, boring, and some performance upgrades. I am ready to spend some more money to make my bike do 110-115. Please help and want to know were in Pune these type of modification can be done.

                            13. What are the various aftermarket upgraded available for RX series?

Ans: There are many upgrades one can have depending on personal choice & money. So may cause harm to your bike's overall performance, some may improve them. So what i am suggesting below are to be treated as optional items only & intented to be reviewed & used at own risk.

                            a. Performance Air Filter (Ex., K&N, Pipercorss, UNI, Custom)
                            b. Ignition System (Ex., PVL, Ravi-Nagesh, Custom)
                            c. Gear Box (Ex., RX-King, DT125, Custom)
                            d. Disc Brake Assembly (Yamaha Gladiator, Honda Unicorn)
                            e. Tyres (IRC, Michelin)
                            f. Expansion Chambers (Proton, KRP, Custom)
                            g. Connecting Rod (DT125, RX-King)
                            f. Reed Valve (Boyesen, VForce, RX-King, RZ-Series)
                            g. Spark Plugs (NGK Iridiums)
                            h. Headlight Bulbs (Philips, Osram)
                            i. Rims & Spokes (Union Cycle, Hero Honda OE, Yamaha OE)
                            j. Handle Bar (Suzuki Shogun OE, RD350 OE, Sports Handle Custom)
                            k. Indicators (Suzuki Shogun OE)

guys, just wanted some more info on # d.
I think its time for my RX135 to go for a disc break setup. I know a lot has been talked about upgrading RX stock breaks with Disc breaks but still I'm in a confusion to choose the right one.
I have heard that Gladiator's setup is a direct fit, so enquired today with yamaha dealer and he quoted me 10-11k for the whole disc assembly (including front fork legs, but excluding the inner tubes.) This seems to be high on my wallet. Also enquired pulsar 150 setup and got the quote of 6-7 k (inclusive of fork legs and tubes).
I want to know is pulsar's a direct fit or any other mods to be done and how do you compare these two for RX.
Is there any other setup that I can think of?

                              have an other question here.......

how do I know or check whether my RX135 is running lean? What I know by "lean" is the air mixture is more than the fuel mixture, right? I believe that both Air/fuel mixture should be 50/50. What should be the position of air screw to make sure the mixture is appropriate?

My RX135 is giving a consistent mileage of 50-55 KMPL, now does it mean that it is running lean since RX's are not tend to deliver this mileage? Could there be an issue?

                                1. Gladiator setup is undoubtedly the best option available. Bit pricey though but way better than any other. A complete assembly incl. the inner tubes with forks pre assembled with oil, ready to fit can be had for less than 10k. search around various dealers and you might be able to find one.

2.Running lean is when the air-fuel mixture gets disturbed. Could be less fuel or more air. Running more oil than the prescribed amount can also make the mixture lean. Any air leaks [ manifold, reeds, head gasket etc.] also make it lean.
An ideal mixture is 12.5:1 .
Check your plugs for color and post a hi res pic.
