I dont think so anyone says 2strokes are under powered than 4 strokes!
I'm the one who shifted from my Yamaha to Pulsar. I still absolutely love my RX it is best Bike ever made in india. Absolutly love to ride it day in day out. But times are changing. U dont want to hear abut pollution!! Isnt it a natinal and world problem? Yeah public trasport should be improved but everyone must take an initiative!!
We speed junkies won't settle for low of power bikes to fight pollution. But if u get equal or better bikes with same power which pollutes less then why not !!
Best example i can give here is, Heard of Moto Grand Prix?
This type of racing use to have 2 stroke motor cycles and superbike racing used to have 4 stroke motorcycles.
But things changed MotoGP 500 are now all 4strokes bikes.
I dont know why u getting against wonderful technology called 4 stroke engines.

I agree with u man. Even im a 2 stroke fanatic.
But u got to accept the changes, even i love the rx100, RXZ very much.As u said, we all feel the NFS, so when we get a 4 stroke bike which faster than the RXZ and rx100(exception:RD350), wht would u go for(i mean when the bikes are in stock condition, not modified ones)??
Well u mentioned some mods for the RXZ, these mods can be done to the 4stroke bikes too.
It all depends on the riders choice man, if u are a diehard 2 sroke lover go for a 2 strk bike and others who aprreciate 4strke(person like me[|)])will go for 4 stroke.Simple as tht

Cool Mods yaar!!! Why dont you try porting your brains for a change? God knows why u guys always end up with ideas which have an ultimate aim of defeating the ZMA or P180 or CBZ.
Sunny please look into this. Every now and then one of these guys give their BRILLIANT ideas on how to screw bikes royally so that they can defeat the ZMA, P180 or CBZ.
Dude why dont you spend 70 to 80 grand for this mod and show us the bike and talk about its problems too. Like the below 15 mileage, or burnt clutch plates, or an engine whose life is reduced by half.http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif

So, I dont know..is it Ehud or "duh"e!!!
Every person who inhabits this planet has a responsibility to take care of the environment like it is his/her own...as bikers, we have to be even more careful as now bikes pollute more than the public transport (in delhi esp with buses going CNG)...and moreover, bikes still run on an exhaustible source of energy and ur mods surely are not going to help matters....world over, ppl are showing concern for nature an u still are stuck in the fascist world where oil guzzling machines were the trend...
...and hey, like many of us said so here, (not in these words though!) "times they are a changing" and like Dylan went on to say, "times, they have changed"...so move on dude, & please please show some more concern...and do love machines in their stock condition...dont "screw them up royally"!!!!...
2 strokes bikes are faster definitely with the same displacement, but surely a "enlightened and educated" citizen of the world wouldnt promote a polluting technology too much...(delhi is still one of the most polluted cities in the world btw!!)
We gotta learn to live and have fun, and not live for fun only...a little concern will surely go a long way...
And do show some patience, Indian 4st bikes will soon be zooming with all the speed just as much as with oomph!!!!

thanks for the "hearty" response guys. What I am trying to say is that you can't blame ONLY 2-strokes for the amount of pollution caused! The biggest polluters are buses/lorries/autos. DL cleaned up a lot only after buses were converted to CNG - yes or no? So trying to say that 4-strokes are better than 2-strokes just on this point is being lamebrained!
Next, it's either mileage or speed. Less speed more mileage, its as simple as that. Besides 2-strokes are MUCH easier to mod than 4-strokes. And also modifying ur bike is not going to cause more pollution, pl. gimme a break! If your bike is [u]well serviced </u>then it will not pollute!
I agree w/ Sabby, am not tryin to start a dogfight. But until 4-strokes can be RELIABLY modified/tailored to suit a person's needs, 2-strokes rule in India!No Scars No Proof!

Who told u that more the speed less the mileage? My P180 returns with 50+ mileage after good bouts of speeding. The Dtsi's return with mileage figues which literaly compete with the 100cc bikes. And yes Pulsars do not do this by making a mess in the air. I am not against 2 strokes dude, but accept it that they move with a lot of bang and splutter than 4 strokes. A smooth clean firing present in a 4 stroke will be rarely present in a 2 stroke. You're right if it is serviced regularly it wont pollute [u]that much</u>, but accept it it will emmite more fumes and smoke than a 4 stroke. Anyway I aint against u harming the environment or anything.
The fact that irritates me is that you are willing to spend any damn amount for only one point i.e.TO BEAT THE CBZ, KARIZMA AND P180

But to correct you guys. The black smoke most diesel engines produce is just particulate matter. Thought slightly harmful it is not as poisonous as the white CO filled smoke of 2 strokes.
The presence of large amounts of unburnt fuel as also burnt engine oil makes 2 stroke fumes a lot more dangerous than diesel fumes.2003 Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i (first gen, spoked 18" wheels)

darius man, I'm not saying that I'm willing to spend a lot of money just to beat the P180 and ZMA. What I'm saying is that 2-stroke bikes have that extra edge, viz. they can give more! Like a 2-stroke can be MADE to give more power and more speed. I don't think 4 st have reached that yet! About handling and looks - that's a relative debate - u like it or u don't!
I'm not even going to get into sales market figures! Believe me if the RX 100 was still selling, I think it would still grip the market, petrol prices considered!
All said, ask anyone who lives in the hills, 4 sts don't do the job buddy, only 2 sts! Got more pulling power!No Scars No Proof!

touchy topic isnt it ...he he anyways u only need to come to one of the drags here in bangy to see what the 2 strokes do to the 4 strokes...ehud is right about the performance part....handling ? .. well the rider controls a lot of that so not a factor that holds enuff weight in this equation...looks ? .. well i'll leave that to u guyz..its not something i'm bothered much about..the fact is the 4strokes in india are only better than the 2 strokes in mileage and the level of pollution...but to each his own...u surely cant impose performance biking on everyone...ppl have diff tastes in biking..so gotta accept that ...btw my taste is the raw power of a 2stroke... (lets leave the big superbikes outta this one..coz they dont apply to the average indian)...have to be honest...i love the environment and all...but i'm not too worried about the pollution by bike would be causing to it...in my opinion they're much bigger fish in that dept out there

looks like guys still dont respect the environment they live in..only respect for "velocity" is not how really concerned bikers should be...if u cant take care of the environment, u dont have any business living in it- go find ur own environment...we all need the air to breathe...if only u get to live, can u have fun speeding...sheesh, this common logic escapes all...
...didnt ur mommies tell u that u need clean air or u will be sick & no riding motorcycles for u!!...so many people die of lung diseases and breathing disorders..if nothing do have respect for their dead souls who suffered 'cos of the 'fascist' technologies which continued to be produced...forget the big trucks & all, 2sts are known all over the world to be killing machines...the 2sts in India specially enjoy no special technology to clean up...
Hope ur NFS heads are human enuf to care...

Hi,
2-s lovers are talking as if 4-s will be regretably destroyed by the 2-s bikes( ofcourse excluding the grand dads like RD etc)
And why using "HRC" is no good. Like people ditch the original yamaha cat con silencer coz it is heavy I had ditched the Original pulsar silencer(which is extremly heavy) for a HRC which is light.(power to weight improves, so does the pick-up)
And also refer the topic on p180 silencer modding many guys who used HRC didnot experience any drop in mileage at all while i have heard many two-stroke guys talking abt the severe drop in mileage with the use of a proton or KRP.
As for sound even the protons and the KRPs make loud noises.
AND I shall put it straight:
TO me the major appeal of driving a vehicle comes from the noise it makes. No vrrrooom no josh - whether a car(thats why i love the old fiats and pugeots) or a bike.
AND EVEN 4-S CAN BE HEAVILY MODDED TO RETURN PATH-BREAKING PERFORMANCE.
e.g A small sprocket mod can push a DTSI180 to 142.58kmph(source OVERDRIVE'S website)
I don't want to say that 2-s are not gud. They r and as the tech came long after 4-s tech(around 1950 i suppose) and flourished, it certainly serves a purpose.
Initially the market belonged to the 2-s bikes like the deadly rx-100,shogun etc but now times are changing and the 4-s sales are much more(most 2-s are out due to pollution norms etc) and also more powerful bikes have just started enterning the market with the advent of pulsars, zma and so much more is expected.
And all this with a promise of even more mileage.
What else can one ask for??
AND the environment ofcourse. How can we call it bullsh-itt.
Rajazz is true. AND methinks it is foolish to measure "how much I add and how much they add" to the pollution. One must think individually abt how they can help mother nature recover and not argue that what pollution i cause is less than some thing else
AND as far as LOYALTY GOES I HAVE ONLY ONE THING TO SAY:
"BRANDS AND TECHNOLOGY ARE MADE FOR HUMANS, HUMANS ARE NOT MADE FOR THEM"
So i think it is foolish to talk abt loyalty to a techonology or a brand.
Today I use pulsar(like others i love my bike), tomorrow if HH or HMSI or any other company bring a better product(suited to my needs and pocket) I shall shift to it without any second thoughts.
Same holds true for the technology.

ok guys, let cut out the theatrics with the "I love and care about the environment so much!" We all do! So lets not start any s***! I care about the environment too, in fact I don't bribe the PUC guys like so many others! So lets talk something else instead of "these 2 stroke buggers don't give a damn about the environment"! Is that all you 4 st guys can say against us? c'mon u gotta have more "imagination"!
And yes, once again - it's either power or mileage, you just can't have both! (applies to ALL bikes!)No Scars No Proof!
