Congrats Ram! Also all the very best for the 'Z' rebuild. What can I say to a die-hard 2T Yamaha fanboy?!?!? Keep posting on all the progress of this restoration process. I would expect it to be detailed unlike mine.

Thank you Sri, Seriously I'm stammering & searching for words to Thank you for the help rendered. Anyways, there's a TREAT when you visit Coimbatore. A Visual Treat of the 4S Z & 5S.

      Here's what happened:

      Sri: Calls me up...
Me: I Hung up as I'm in mu Uncles condolence..
Me: Send him a msg, & quickly Sri acknowledges..

A Week passes by and no news & i still never knew why Sri called me up...

      Sri: Calls me...
      Me: What's up Sri..
Sri: I've got a mouthwatering Proposal for you...
Me: Tell me Sri, what's it about?
Sri: A 4S Stock RXZ is up for sale & would you be interested...?
Me: Sri, I might really be..but Home minister has to acknowledge the same, so gimme a day's time
Sri: Ok, let me know. If not I'll pick it up.

As Home ministry is important part to a married man, take wifey out to all the Chinese Restaurants she prefers & pump in more of fries, Lung Fung Soups & other assortments that i even don't know the name of... I slowly pass the proposal to wifey, for a moment she gazed at me like an Arctic monkey acting crazy over the name RXZ..finally agrees to the proposal. There i go...

      Phone calls again...8:30 P.M on a night

Me: Sri, I'll pick it up...
Sri: Good good. Wait a minute..
Me: Yes, Sri, even Wifey agreed to it
Sri: Puts a concall to Goutham (Owner).
Gowtham (owner): Conveys what's there & what's not with the bike.
Me: Thinking about the genuineness he had in his words, agree to pick it up without seeing the bike.
Goutham: Sends me the link of the bike's Pic
Me: Don't worry about the pic Goutham. I'll transfer the money to your acc no.

      ...DEAL CLOSED...then & there.

      Sri: Wishes me good luck
      Goutham: Thanks me..
Me: Amazed by these two guys, running out of words, i thank both of them & hang up the call in mere amusement

Three weeks passes by that had kept Goutham & Sri busy with a lot of work & finally after three weeks of excitement, my baby boy arrived today to Coimbatore. Although I was stuck at office because of a concall & still I'am, my colleague went to collect him. It's 10.05 P.M now & i'm leaving to see him for the first time

Enjoy..for now. More to come soon....

Ram - Wonderful. Now that it reached CBE and that too a passionate guy, what else to worry about? Take a good look and start your restoration plan. All the best !

You have put every word of phone conversation in that role play. Amazing!

My first post here, after ~3 years of joining... mostly because of the 2 fine gentlemen I got acquainted with due to this deal.

I had picked up this bike with the only intention of restoring it to its original glory from a colleague of mine, but just couldn't dedicate the time. Since the time it came home, I had set it aside & stored it. I've probably ridden it for around 2kms (YUP!)... I was hoping that a parked bike will drive me harder to start the restoration. Unfortunately, it was never meant to be. I decided to let go off this bike & I was determined that it will be sold only to someone who understands the machine and more importantly do justice to it.

I had initially worked out a deal with Karthik & Chetan, however that unfortunately didn't go through for various (personal) reasons.

& that's when Ram came along.

I guess I procured it for 1.5k plus shipping plus additional charges for jetting. My sincere suggestion would be stay away & enjoy stock in it's fullest. One would not feel much difference unless & until you jet it right & plonk in an Expansion chamber, the stock pipes are as good as nothing in difference shown other than the fanboys "Roar".. That's why i didn't even utter this to Aargee who was as interested as me in doing that...

                              Coming back to the RXZ;

Had a full look at the bike last morning and here are the observations:
                              • Front Fork Inner pipes on both L+R side has to be changed as rust has eaten away everything in that..
                              • Rear Shox on both sides needs complete replacement as the stock ones shows no movement at all
                              • Tank dent on top has to be taken care of (Not an issue as it's small one)
                              • Tank part on which the seat rests needs complete tear-up & fixing with new sheet & painting it up
                              • Both rims needs replacement (Union's again this time)
                              • Complete work on chasis to be done up
                              • Chain sprockets are as good as new (Amazing isn't it?)
                              • Speedo/ RPM meters needs replacement & i'm gonna treasure the old speedo that indicates 90xxx kms done
                              • As i have a set of Clutch & Magneto covrs of 5s, planning to plonk it here. (Suggestions most welcome)

                              What's your say here guys...

Thanks Goutham !!! Dont worry knowing Ram a little so far i know he ll do justice to the bike as much as we would have done or infact looking at his list above i think the bike is gonna come even better than what i had planned(he is planning the 5S way mine was to restore it back to 4s way)

Let me know if you get the RX 135 speedo meters here in Bangalore we only have the RX 100 style ones. I need one for my planned bike restoration for RX Z
How do you plan to insert the RPM worm kit in the 5s clutch cover. If a hole is drilled and things how is the reliability as in will there be any engine oil leaks. Asking this as we haven't tried doing this.
