The process of phosphating steel parts can be said as an conversion coating because the process involves metal removal as part of the reaction. However, it is not like anodizing or black oxide, the final surface layer is of very fine phosphate crystals clinging to the metal that has to be powder coated or paint, for paint and powder coatings phosphate coating helps in mainly two functions, firstly the coating gives improved finish product, as the phosphate crystals act as an organic coating, secondly the phosphate layer protects the metal from corrosion acting as an corrosion barreir, if at any time the powder or paint parts get scratched, the phosphating treated part is tested for rust creeping, and the rust creep is very much low,

normally for metal that is to be painted or powder coated phosphating is unnecessary, phosphating is normally applied to large metal components ,like like large dia pipes, etc as a temporary low cost rust inhibitor, before coating normally the phosphate coating will be sandblasted off and the specified coating applied in the appropriate thicknee

The following job needs to be done :

Will get the silencer from tinker by tomorrow

Bore has been sent for sandblasting and rebore job (0.75 goetze or top pro piston )

will send the parts to be chromed (silencer, pinyl holder and some other small parts ) by day after tomorrow and will be getting it in a week .

new tail light assembly glasses are on its way .

will be giving the tank, side shields ,mask and tail cowl for painting after a week .

                      tyres to be bought

                      paperwork needs to be done

                      headlight assembly for better lighting

                      all other works are finished

I think it would take another 20 days to finish up everything

EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE FINISH UP !!!

Flash copper is used for its conductivity, and going by the nature of the process in electroplating, it will help draw the nickel on to your item in the next stage.

This sounds technical and most of them running plating shed only try to find a short cut and earn more in no time. Detail work on plating as you said is only possible when one has thorough knowledge.

Generally most of the plating houses cut short these methods, but even if you have the knowledge of plating, plating house will never do it according to your liking or knowledge.
