  • [SlideShow]: Yamaha Rxz 4 Speed Restoration ( Help Needed)

Hello my Fellow Xbhpians . This is my second post in xbhp. The first one was about the restoration of a RXZ and the plan was dropped and sold due to some finiancial problems. Found a rx 135 4 speed at a stock good condition and i am pretty happy with it , although a week after that found a good offer (by the grace of God) a Rxz 4 speed for rs 10,000/-..so thought of restoring it as it is my DREAM now

Following are Some info of the bike :
    2,owners
    1998 model
    Black colour in the RC
Blue colour painted bike with 5 speed stickers FC Insurance barred
    5 speed pinyl holder
No oil tank and 2t oil guage
    No airfilter box
RX KING "MADE IN JAPAN" carb
    After market headlight assembly
stock 4TLOO E-1 series bore (0.50 mm in size )
    Bajaj Pulsar disc brake assembly
I would like to call upon all the 2 stroke brothers to help me with each and every step in the process and also help me in some parts ( i almost have much spares from my last left out restoration )Eagerly waiting to get approved so that i could post all the questions i have in my mind .Will post the pictures of my both rides after getting approval

Re: Yamaha Rxz 4 Speed Restoration ( Help Needed)

Found the following while stripping :

Lockset and tail light assembly are working and in good condition so it will be used in the restoration and will not be changed .

Allen key bolts are present in the engine part of the bike and will be using it in the restoration as they look cool (atleast for me )

Oil pump is not present .will be using an old pump which I have taken from my old rx.

Found a new oil tank dip stick with my friend and will be getting it.

Also need to find rxz fork cups as the ones came with my bike are from a 135 and 2t oil tank is also found missing in the bike.

Met with a powder coating guy and gave only one L bracket to powder coat as suggested by SriramEfunds. If satisfied with the outcome then all parts will be given for powder coating to him.

what help do you need , also which swing arm are you using, is it from gladiator, your bike is pretty much complete and that makes it a very good starting point , as for the cylinder second hand cylinders go for about 2-2.5k here better you go for a new one ,as you will need to purchase a new piston and rebore to next oversize which will add around 750-1000 on top of the purchase price and with the local rebore job there is no guarantee how long it will last , if possible go for new block kit , it will be expensive but will give you peace of mind

The bore is a non sleeved E -2 series (0.50mm) size with top pro piston .skipped the Rebore job. Will change the piston rings.

The connecting rod is "sico" brand. Searched for connecting rod with Yamaha showroom and it is not available. So went for "macco" connecting rod.

What about the engine centercase treatment? Buffing / painting?

The crank cases are cleaned with petrol for almost 2 hours by my mechanic and I'm pretty satisfied with it. As good as new it is
