The crank cases are petrol washed for almost 2 hours ,not buffed or painted .
After washing the crank cases are as good as new.

Thanks for the help kb 100, the bore is a non sleeved one 0.50 mm size ,my mech told to change the piston rings only and it would be fine .

Hello naren, after powder coating the chassis, use clear coat also as it will give deep lustrous shine to the frame of the bike and what is the charge of powder coating.

No naren , clear coat is applied just after the paint is baked, the frame is cleaned with high pressure water, and then clear coat is applied and again baked for about half an hour, i can't post pictures because the bike is already assembled, but me and my friend have just done this treatment process to my friends rxg bike recently, the whole process e.g. acid wash, phosphating, two coats of powder coat plus two coats of clear costed us 5000/-rs, but the outcome was brilliant the frame was shining like glass.

you shouldnt have acid washed a chassis man , acid baths eats into metal decreasing the thickness of the pipe weakening the chassis ,also if not properly cleaned the acid residue left in hard to teach places (inside the tubes) will lead to further serious corossion, btw how long was it dipped in the acid bath

You are right kb, initially we were looking for sand blasting, but we didn't find any at our nearby place, the chassis was badly rusted, so we did took the risk of giving her an acid bath, and moreover we were having the facility of acid bath, phosphating and powder coating at the same facility, total time was 45min, afaik, because we left the frame there, and the owner told us that the chassis will be dipped for 45min, after the acid wash chassis was washed properly with high pressure water, is there any other way beside acid wash and sand blasting to clean the frame.

if its just paint you can try paint stripper, also wirebrush mounted on an angle grinder will obliterate rust in no time, btw 45min in acid bath for a 2wheeler chasis is too much

pS: should have gone for a new chassis costs only 3.2k

Let's keep our finger crossed, and pray, option of using paint stripper never came into our mind probably because the amount of heavy rust that was on the frame, but thank's for these two methods you have mentioned, will keep them in mind for future, yes we could have gone for a new chassis but then you have to reregister the new chassis no. on the RC. and my friend was not willing to do that.

                              Need not be.
New chassis comes without Chassis number punching. You can get the old number punched in new frame (no hassle with RTO / RC)

Ok we didn't knew this thing, otherwise we had not taken so much of headache and wouldn't have spended so much of money on powder coating. Thank's for the information.
