  • [Photo Feature]: Suzuki Supra Powerup reborn- History revisited!

Hey there friends and enthusiasts. Today i present to you the story of my latest rebuild -the Suzuki SUPRA Powerup .

As a teenager the most fascinating performance bike to me was the Supra. and more when the Powerup version came up. I was just infatuated by its beauty.. till i became eligible to ride and the Shogun came but my love for the Supra always remained and time and again i used to play with the idea of having a factory fresh Supra Powerup in my stable. So the project was added to my list of to-dos some years ago and two years ago the hunt for a used bike began only only to be disappointed everytime. Then about a year ago i thought of making my own Supra by converting an AX100 series bike. and finally i came across a clean Suzuki Samurai two months ago. meanwhile over the years i had collected almost all new parts for the Supra.

The rebuild began one month ago and the parts collection added to the swift rebuild. Sharing some pictures. I hope you guys like them.

For starters here is a pic of a Supra advert from more than two decades ago. (for those who dont know what a Supra is)

Special thanks and credits to Ashok George, Shankar Ganesh, Satishg,Roopak M, Bibhu Kar, Sriram, and all friends who kept the faith.

Ah, the good old days of the 90's. Thanks for bringing back the memory. Though I can't recall much, still I remember one Supra and one Shaolin from my locality going crazy for race with one RX 100. While coming from school(usually around 3:30-4:00 pm-calm aternoon time), we were awestruck by the sound these beautiful machines created. I/we didn't know about the technical details back then. After a long time I have come across something related to Supra. Keep them coming.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

No words to commend about your ability, i have never seen this bike on road, how did you procure the parts for this bike, none of the suzuki's 2strokes bikes parts are available any more, recently i asked for shogun parts and the shopkeeper told me that all of the dye and other machinery has been scraped by the company, so i can't get any part. But still you have remade the bike truly amazing, pls post some more rebuild photos of the bike.

I told you before didnt I?... You just need to know where to look. Conventional shopping is a negative for vintage restoration.

Yes i remember, actually delhi is a very negative place (in spares availability department)for restoration processes, and particularly for 2strokes.

Seat cowl replica is truly amazing, how much time and money did this fabrication costed you, in future there is no worry of cracking this part, great going.

Yes since we dont get any original Abs cowls anymore i thought it was better to have a more durable one. He is kinda expensive . Cost me abt 2500 and the job was done in 5 days max.

Satish yes the smith does a good job. I told u we cud get a tank made
