Re: The Legendry Yamaha RD 350. Yes, I have one now

        In Rims
1st choice is Unicorn (Honda) the original RD & Unicorn looks the same . check at Honda showroom sometimes they have the rims or they will have complete wheel. ( buying the complete wheel makes no sense. Its bit difficult to get this unicorn rims as later unicorn came with mags.

2nd choice is CBZ rims the perfect had used on my RD ( miss it now) & my friends too.

3rd choice is the pulsar one , I forgot the brand name . It is to come on early pulsar models . Had used them on another friends resto RD.

Hope this helps , also feel free to ask ...............

Re: The Legendry Yamaha RD 350. Yes, I have one now

The front end is from a P220 with avenger hub + rd rims + pulsar spokes combo. The t stem and top plate are also from an RD. the stock inner tubes have 34mm dia, and the pulsar 200 dtsi tubes fi without mods, they are 33 mm. The FZ ones are 43mm and the springs are pathetic, they dive and are all over th place. The 220 fork tubes are 37mm. The stock stem needs to be rebored to take th 220 forks. There is a new p180 that comes with the same 220 front end.

They are better thn the FZ forks interms of progressive damping.

Thanks for the info Pramod..looking forward to see your bike soon. How is the 33mm Avenger & rest of the pulsar fork ? what is your opinion ? is it longer than the P220/P180/NS200 fork ? Are you moving to CDI or points ?

Avenger forks are way too longer. I am on cdi already.

Only pulsar 200 DTSI uses the 33 mm shock, others are different and smaller. Gold on bottle green would look very weird. What is there with mallus and gold ? (I am a mallu myself )

Update, the cycle build is complete. Hoping to complete the complete bike build by this weekend. Pics to follow...

See there is nothing called plug and play. You have to machine a avenger hub, you have to make a spacer for the pulsar hub. Technically speaking any front end can be installed on any bike. the only challenge is the amount of mods. The Avenger Disk is 260 MM the P220 Calliper is better than the avenger.

People also go with FZs front end.
