The cycle build is complete. The crank build is complete. Engine is getting assembled as we speak. Hoping for the bike to be ready and running by this Saturday.

I am looking for some fork brace for my bike. can someone post a pic of some simple designs, one on Google is way to complicated.

        Hi,
I must say that you have the patience and knowledge for rebuilding. A few years back I had started rebuilding the same but could not complete. Finally had to take help of my mechanic. It's such a pleasure to see someone build his own bike, hoe I would be able to do the same, you are really a source of inspiration. After reading your post I am now planning to get my RD done. All though it is running fine but when you have an RD you always feel that it could run still better. Except the brakes I have not done any modifications.

I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart, and I am bang sure that your outcome will be a total success. May god bless you brother.

Thanks for the wishes, I too was new to rebuilds at a point of time. That time I knew, I have a flair for dismantling stuff and putting them back without a lot of nuts and bolts to spare

My first one was my cycle in1993, then I kept graduating to bigger stuff and finally the first real machine with wheels was dads Bajaj Chetak. I could fix most of household articles(which I still do) I used to fix minor stuff on my car and my first real bike build was my own RX 100. Then the first build for my friend happened. At that time I learned a lot from a customer point of view as to what is required for each builds and how rushing things can be bad.

I knew after my previous build, that this one has to be a special one. I do a lot of progress when no one is around and I sometime feel rushed when there is company.

If you have a technical bent, you will eventually figure out anything, it will take some tries and you will finally get it right. in the process you might damage a lot of stuff, for preventing that make sure you read a lot and understand the consequences of each action. I wish you luck with your rebuild, however I come from a school of thought. "If it isn't broken, don't attempt to fix it"

            Dude,

You are same like me. Earlier when I was doing the rebuild for my 135, Even my living room looked similar. Only change was I could not take whole bike inside as it was an apartment in 7th floor. Still all the spare parts and painting was done inside my living room only. Lucky that My wife didn't kicked me out . .

Anyways good luck for the build.

Lol Done that as well, I restored a 100 and a 135 at the same time in the same living room and wife was around that time. I cannot explain how lucky we should be that our spouses understand our passion and don't poke their nose in our business.

The RD looks fabulous. The twin exhausts just catches the eye.
Have a wonderful time with it.

finding a scrap RD is next to impossible these days, but there are some tucked away across India and all it needs is some serious passion and a lot of patience

Hey Alex, thanks for the kind words. Reviving her has not at all been kind on the pocket and I should rather proudly say I have burned a rather large hole in my bank account.

As for the RD, she is putting up a real fight and has not started yet. Turns out the CDI on the bike is from a shogun, so is the magnet. I am looking to start the bike and run it as it is till I find a good ignition(also saving while doing all this) and replace it with the present ignition.

This is how the bike looks as of now, there are indicators also attached to it

The bike started yesterday, its acting like a complete *****, the float needles are stuck shut and the carbs are not providing fuel, the tank is not slotting into place and the bike is over heating, I felt like I might cease the engine when I tried to run her in for 2-3 minutes, I cut the ignition immediately.

RE 350 float jets are identical? I knew there were similarities.
