the 535 lightning had the same carb and it is more rare than the RD. Arun does not have the float jets. I have to look elsewhere.

Re: The Legendry Yamaha RD 350. Yes, I have one now
Hi Pramod,
I have been keeping a track on the progress you are making on you RD350, I have been reading your threads almost everyday. In my previous thread I had told you that I will be restoring my RD, I am now in a process to collect a few spares that are required for the restoration. I would l seek you advice about the cylinders. I guess you purchased new cylinders (Chinese, Malaysian or Taiwanese make), I am not sure abut that but if you have purchased them, I would like to ask, are they worth buying? or it would be advisable to re-sleev my existing cylinders. I am from Kolkata, an I do not see any good place where I could get the cylinders sleelved in Kolkata. I may need to get it done from Banglore or Delhi. I am still running on points, was lucky enough to get a used timing cam in a pretty good condition as compared to the one that I currently had and that really improved the timing. I am in the process of sourcing a new chain sprocket set. The pictures of the spokes and seat cover (with Yamaha written) that I see in your thread seemed to be excellent, may I take this opportunity to ask you if the spokes were chrome plated and also wanted to know if I can get one for myself.
So here is a list of spares that I waiting to procure or have already procured
1) Cylinder & pistons - new, waiting to procure
2)Packing kit, oils seals - procured
3)Crank rebuild - being rebuilt
4)Oil pump - waiting for a suitable deal (the one that I had is with my mechanic but he is now denying )
5) Chain and sprocket Set - procured
6) Spokes - waiting to see if I can get chromed spokes or at least good quality spokes (your suggestion will be of great help)
7)Do not required to paint my baby as it seems to be good
8)About my silencers, they require to be changed they are in bad shape, so here in Kolkata I know a gentleman who is manufacturing them. The quality seems to be very good. He is also manufacturing, front and rear mudguards, chain cover, Rear indicator holders, tail lamp holder etc.
Your advice on the cylinders, seat cover and the spokes will be highly appreciated. My apologies in advance in case these questions are eating up your time and by any chance I hope I am not bugging you.
With regards
Sandeep Dey

Re: The Legendry Yamaha RD 350. Yes, I have one now
First things first,
Let me apologise for not adding any pics or updating the thread for some days now.
I had an official visit to Bangalore and I utilised the trip fully. here is the complete list of things I bought.
A complete carb rebuild kit.
2 sets of jets minus atomizer
1 set of carb rebuild kit for the rx 100 minus main jet
1 packing kit
2 grease nipples
5mud flaps for the rear
4 mud flaps for the front
2 speedo rubber rings
1 CDI unit(allied kit)
packing kit(2) for the rx series carbs
1 rd battery strap
1 set RD engine decals
the update on the bike is, I have shattered the woodruff key on the bike and 3 extra ones(they all had play in them). The bike started for a brief moment before loosing the next woodruff key. I am told that the pulsar classic woodruff key is a perfect match, however by the time I am out of office the shop closes, procrastinating it for this weekend.
The tank is putting up a fight, its not going in, I am hoping to get it seated properly by the denter. Pics to follow

The bike is now completed and runs fine, Since most of you have seen the bike on tbhp or facebook , I am not posting a pic here. People need to get a bit more active here, I only see a handful few contributing. Its not much encouraging for contributors as well
I will only post images if anybody is interested to see the final outcome(I know I am pushing it)

Wire brush, they will give you a hand operated verity, then ask for the drill machine operated one.
The hub is from avenger, the speedo is not calibrated, there is an error in the reading. In order to calibrate I could have used the pulsar classic(disk type) speedo worm kit. The error margin is lower since the tyre is of slightly lower profile.Originally posted by deepanpandiaraj View PostIt looks like thunderbird wheel hub.Is the speedo cable from the same? Sandeep, I some how missed your post sorry. The cylinders are better than the sleeve jobs, I have run bikes with both and I like them ok, they are known to have casting imperfections, check for those. The seat cover can be done from any good upholstery guy, The spokes from an RX series bikes with drum brakes can be used. You also get these step spokes at local vendors. The seats can be procured from Rao's Bangalore, they have some great options.
Sanjay, latest pics are updated in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...ogress-21.html
Uploading it here is a royal pain since the support team has still not fixed the bugs in the forum despite repeated reminders.
