Re: Restoration RX 100 (Legend Alive)

Nice restoration there,I have a question regarding the type of paint used on engine case, bore and bore head.Does the stock factory built engine case and bore and bore head comes with a normal metalic paint or powder coated or Anodized ? I don't think it's of a normal paint but I am confused between powder coating or Anodized.Do let me know how it used to come back then from showroom.

Other than Bore, all the engine parts are powder coated.
To my knowledge the bore is acid dipped and cleaned.

              Update :

              Run-In

I have ridden 150KM shifting the gears very sensibly and experienced an engine turn off problem every 15 Kms ever though maintaining the speed between 40 to 50.

Can someone help me on this.

              Observations

              1. Engine does n't start immediately.

              2. Cylinder head is very hot.

                Did you fill the tank.
And is the oil pump working well.

Was the bike standing idle for many months.
This happened in my KB too.
It gave throttle gap once every then (the throttle won't work when you hit the accelerator)
At that time I had to close the clutch and again leave the accelerator.

The Mech said there was less fuel and bike was standing idle for a long time.
It takes time for the engine setting.

BTW your bike is cool. The original stripes are awesome.
I dont ride my bike to add days to my life.

Bike was filed half the tank and the engine was re-bored. It was running well in shorter distance with perfect idling conditions. The oil pump is working well but the oil inflow is set to minimum. I haven't tried closing the clutch leaving the accelerator. Thanks for the comments bro.

Was the engine left at idle with intermittent stops before taking for a ride?

Re: Restoration RX 100 (Legend Alive)

Finally, troubleshooted the engine turn-off problem.

There was an voltage drop or cut-off to spark the engine due to sub-standard coil which I dint replace during my rebuild.

Also the CDI unit was very weak so that I had to fix both of them to resolve the issue.

Odo is now 1000 approx. having a crispy ride all the day.

Credits to Mr.Boss - For giving me a head'sup to check on the ignition coil.
