No sir...It was just my personal view...You see, I am so scared to try even a simple mod like this on my bike as i dont want to disturb it.
Reason: My carb's Jet threads are having some kind of cuts ...like it is very difficult to fix a jet if i remove them for cleaning at least. Also jets have the same problem. so i am scared. Thats why i said having a spare carb is better.
@RAM:yes in unfortunate case, even that.
Myself and Ram have a little bit of experience in searching for carb jets and i guess Ram still have that problem.

Carb is something I can understand, but again, its not that difficult putting back the jets & switch to stock setup; may be I loose a little here & there on air screw; but why cylinder kit

I thought, if I know what I'm doing, then its not big deal switching back & forth, isn't it? or am I assuming too much?
I think Deepak is talking about dust entering the Carb Mouth & leading to Scorching on the cylinder walls & busting the cylinder eventually.

    Am i right Deepak?

I have not tried any performance mod before. SO i dont have much idea about this. But a small thing which i would like to suggest is, please acquire a spare cylinder kit/carb and do this as a perfectly set/running RX is something very difficult to see in current scenario. Ignore if you are already having a spare.

BTW, can I use the TM28 or should I stick only with VM22? Carb will definitely by Mikuni for sure be it VM or TM. So it will be 180 & 17.5 mm right?

    Mine is 4S head & cylinder + 5S gearbox + VM22 with 165M & 17.5P
Stick to the VM. TMs on stock ports are overkill and are hard to jet. Try a 180 or a 190 MJ. Do a plug chop, if u feel youre rich, start down jetting. Most often i have seen that just putting a 180 will do the job with carb tuning.

Lol!!! Guys...cool; I'm only trying to experiment; I'm expecting a little stress free engine that's all; if I don't get what I need, I'll switch back to stock. Call it the effect of the other 4joke if you want to, but, that's what I'm trying to accomplish.

Like I said before, its only a Summer project as I can't go out anywhere. By the time monsoon starts, I might switch to stock probably.

Yes, that's what I thought; it might do well on higher speeds I guess.

Kindly keep me posted, whether I do it first or not, would like to share the results.

Your flatslide might be an overkill at stock cylinder. Well, my guess is that like Nitesh said, try experiment with VM22 with 180MJ. I remember long time back Anand in GP Road had some jets. You can give a shot.
Was wondering the samething here, a person who won't move an inch apart from being OEM is discussing for mods now That too with some of the exotic carbs in stable.... I'm sticking with the experiment Aargee & waiting for ur results.

A Uni on a stock RX135 works good with 180MJ. Bit of carb tuning and youre set. Most of the pilot doesnt need to need to be changed. On a 5sp, switching to 17.5 should do the job.

If its a UNI you should not have any problems with the life of the cylinder and piston. Keep it well oiled and clean all the time and it will last you 4-5 years atleast.
You will need to upjet with any filter you fit. A 180 Mikuni MJ works well on a stock RX135.

P.S- which AM filter is on your mind?
