^^ i need to check, but surely around the 7-9k mark.

If your friend wants to put up a disc brake on his CBZ classic, then why not one from the CBZ disc directly??? why go for a RXZ disc??? and to fit it you will have to match the axle dia, hub, disc, calliper mount and what not.

^^ the cbz disc will be cheaper for sure than the RXZ. Or else he can go for the pulsar 18 inch rim/hub and disc setup.

edit - the disc only of the RXZ is around 5k shipped!!!!

                      Update

Assembling has begun from 26th night. Sorry folks I did not get time to update. First batch of pictures.

The cycle parts were brought from painting on 26th evening. Tank and panels are yet to come. This was how it looked at 26th 11.00 PM.

Double stand, swingarm, rear wheel fitted. Rear mudguard and shock absorbers fitted. Front T with streering cone kit fitted. Ceat Secura Sport 3.00 X 18 tyre at rear.

                      27th February
Work starts at around 7 pm in evening. This is how it looked around 8-30 pm.

Front forks set up. Front tyre and fender fitted. Left and right meter consoles fitted. That is Khan (who eats yams for breakfast, lunch an, dinner, owner of a RX135 5 speed, ex-rallyst and 2 times winner of Kolkata telegraph rally) finishing up the engine before being hauled up. Ceat Secura 2.50 X 18 tyre at front.

                      27th February 10-30 PM.

                      Engine up!

                      27th February 11.00 PM

Head in. Spark plug goes in. Finishing up tightening up head bolts. The torque wrench is not visible.

                      27th February 11.45 Pm

Handle bar in. Speedo in. All units that go in the handle bar fitted. The engine kill switch comes up right beside the accelerator. The handle bar upper holders are yet to come from painting (actually we forgot to pack). For now the 2 handle holder uppers are from my stock of Shogun's spares. The 4 bolts will be replaced also.

                      27th February 11.55 PM

Done for yesterday. Bike rolls like a cycle for the first time!

Tomorrow it is holi here, so no work will be done. Work will resume on Monday evening. Expected completion on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Evening and nights are picked for the job due to less disturbance of 'flying customers' who tend to gather around the job, and asking a whole lot of questions.

I guess I will be one of those 'flying customers' here

Silver paint on casings, brake hubs & forks looks

                        Are those fork rubber JC?

Did anything particular dictate your tyre/brand choice? Whats it getting in the front?

Finally, it would be of great help if you could let us know about 12V conversion.

EDIT: Are reed valves and silencer bend pipes widely available? How much do they cost?

                          Are those fork rubber JC?
Yes JC. The mud flaps as well.

Did anything particular dictate your tyre/brand choice? Whats it getting in the front?
Nothing, I wanted to avoid MRF. Other choice was Dunlop, but I did not like the Challenger ones from Dunlop. Sourced CEAT Secura which I like anytime. Front is 2.50 X 18 to keep it light. Do not want to put on weight on the rickety chasis and front setup.

Finally, it would be of great help if you could let us know about 12V conversion.
I will. Let the wiring get done first. I am ready with a multimeter otherwise.

EDIT: Are reed valves and silencer bend pipes widely available? How much do they cost?
Yes. I have bought them. The reed costs around Rs 500. I will tell you the exact prices tomorrow.

CEAT Secura is pretty long lasting. Had used them previously.

Those JC Rubbers are no match for the original ones man, the ones on fork. Even I have the same one but not happy with the finish :-(

Thanks for the info on reed valves, awaiting your word on bend pipe

Really curious to see the bike fully assembled, especially the colour.

No other way. Yamaha has stopped manufacturing those rubbers, unless you find them with some person with old stocks. Even the mud flaps were not available here. But, I did not find the finish that bad. Beware, there are even duplicate JCs around.

Yeah, mud flaps are ok. Fork rubber not like the original ones. I am sure 24 years from now it will look like crap
