on a serious not when backing off the bike from the cliff where we took the first photos, I realised, what a fool I had been to take the bike there in the first place.

YUPP... same here .. we all basked in the rich greenlands..
but biru loved it so much that he got a bit carried away...
on one stretch while returning he decided to go offroad and we and the watchman / uncle / over enthusiastic aunty were left behind howling for him to return and he was moving ahead unaware of our howls

ps: he was having the ear buds on so could not hear us.. but it was fun watching him go ahead when the whole croud (actually just 8 guys and a lady) were screaming behind...

This all started with a phone call and I really don’t remember how and why that call started but the person who was on the other side was none other than Rohit a.k.a Biru. In his distinctive way he said “ko khan kya haal hain, kaas chal rahe ho kya raviwar ko”. But I had plans so I told him I can’t due to some commitments. The next day 3:00 AM we met to flag of our South Indian Exploration group of which initially I was a member. There my plans crashed due to some stupid bugger saying no to what had been decided. And I told Biru lets roll to KAAS this Sunday. And it was Sunday morning I woke up at 0600 hrs and was ready at 0640 hrs to leave for kaas (Last night fueled up my bike, got Satyen’s bike fixed, went to big wheels cafe at 1:00 am in the night and the worst part was I slept at 4:30 am).

I left my place and reached chandni chouk at 0650 hrs as decided. Saw two riders standing there and those two were ritwik and NV in a minute or so they left for lavasa. Meanwhile came rokr and we two now were waiting for the other two buggers.

Biru called me and told me to wake up and my reply was I am at chandni chowk. And this was the time I was truly in a mood to knock him down in one shot (I think you understand what I am taking about). And when rokr called kashif same story he just woke up. We were really pissed off and after some time we decided that we two will leave and biru will meet us at end of katraj tunnel and kashif will catch us on the way. So we left that place as my mood was to hit them both and biru will surely take time I was moving slowly 40 – 50 kmph, but rokr wanted to reach the tunnel as early as possible. Not to meet biru but to hear the sound of his k&n air filter. And because of me he had to slow down and that really helped us a lot, on one hand we didn’t crashed due to a huge crack just behind the bridge which comes before katraj tunnel and on the other hand we waited only 30 mins more for biru. And then thereal hunt started: biru was searching for his fuel (better ask him about this). And here comes kashif so we all were finally ready to roll towards kaas.

In between we checked the air pressure in our bikes and reached the ghat before reaching wai. First two curves were good to go for corners and we knew traffic level was high. But what next was numerous pot holes lined up so our pace became dead until the ghat ended. In that situation also kashif was tackling traffic well followed by rokr then me and biru. As soon as we crossed the ghat our human part took over the rider part and kashif and me decided to have breakfast so I took the lead coz I wanted to stop at our tried and tested hotel which was near by. And then what “remove your gear ASAP - order something – what are you looking at I am a human”. Ordered chai and puri bhaji, Chai came and every sip of it made the rider in us to take a step back making the human in us ruling our minds then came fluffy puries and tasty bhaji after this the rider part was fishing sitting on a ramp near a pond.

After the refreshments one more tea each and we decided to move on. As soon as all geared up and sat on our rides it was him who was ruling (by this time I think you can frame who is he. Actually I am talking about two states of mind which are usually present in our heart the rider and the human: this does not mean riders are not humans) so the rider was on.
