Well, you'll need to add few more Kms here & there; I'll find out a best route for you.

Superb. that's what i can say. attempting the IBA on a 24 year old machine underlines your GUTS ! your determination to do it on a Legend is appreciable. having attempted the IBA in Oct 2009 (couldn't get the certification due to end witness problems) , i should tell u one thing. the rule of the thumb for IBA is you should always try to be between 100 - 120 kph. and should plan every fuel stop & butt breaks in ADVANCE. and most important thing is if u want to attempt it again on an RX again, u should definitely tweak the Secondary drive. go for a smaller sprocket (Rear-2 or 3 teeth less) so u can gain some top end, u may loose some time during roll-on's but definitely profit form top speeds.

or else the P 220 is always there, IMHO its the best bike after Ninja 250 for timed rides like this. Good luck for your second attempt.

I am sure you had one hell of a ride. Just out of curiosity, did you submit a copy of the documents to IBA?

A question for all. Since I have never sent any correspondence to IBA, from their website I was given to understand that you need to put all your documents along with a $45 cheque.
Can someone please clarify if the information is accurate or is there another way? In case of rejection is there a refund or what are the various senarios faced.

In the world of biking one would find the word saddlesore know for maniac biker's who would complete long distances at a stretch.
Maniac = An insane person. / A person who acts in a wildly irresponsible way. (as per the meaning by dictionary). Have you used the correct superlative here?

Also, looking at the list of rides by IBA, SS1600K is one of the easiest of ride.

                          The thought behind the decision:

I had read a lot of articles on saddlesore rides and came across the Iron Butt Association (IBA) which recognizes the hardcore riders.
From my searches on the net I had not found any maniac who had even tried to complete 1700Kms on a 100CC
I think you missed looking at the IBA' site. Following person is acknowledge by IBA to having completed not just SS but also BB on the smallest bike. A 49cc, single cylinder, 2st.

No, i didn't, because the end witness is very important as it confirms the time, date & location.
will be attempting IBA again in Nov or Dec 2010

As everyone else, I am amazed that you rode 27 hours non stop on a 3 decade old bike.
But I would like to spoil the fun here by saying that you are very stupid to do that. You know yourself that you put yourself in grave danger for a certificate. Please dont attempt anything similar again. You were extremely lucky to return unhurt. God may not be that kind second time around.
