            Riders -
            Sachin - Karizma ZMR
            Viraj - Yamaha R15
            Puneet - Karizma R

From the beginning of Dec'10 we were planning to ride to Mount Abu however to due to various reasons it got postponed.
That time very little did I know about this beautiful hill station which is the highest peak in Aravalli range of Rajasthan.
It is referred to as 'an oasis in the desert', as its heights are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests.
With so much heard about this place I badly wanted to tour Mt.Abu.
It was very hard convincing my parents to allow me to go for this ride as I was just back from New year's Goa ride. However few days down the line I managed to convince my parents and got the most important job done that is getting my leaves approved.
I love riding bike in group so decided to put in on our famous Mumbai thread about this trip. Apart from me & Viraj who were confirmed riders coming for this trip we found a new bee N4Speed [Puneet] who saw my post on the thread and was ready to come this all exciting trip. Few people did try to come but could not make it so we were down to 3 riders finally making it for this ride.

Once everything was sorted the trip was all in the making and ride was planned to be done in Feb'11.

Before we get into the ride to Mount Abu it is important for me to give a vote of thanks to few people as without them the trip would n't have been successful.

Satyen Poojary - Thanks you for suggesting Mt.Abu when I was in dilemma whether to visit Mt.Abu or Udaipur.
An experience of riding with you and all the tips and your valuable advices that you gave me before this ride was of tremendous help.

Viraj & Puneet - My fellow riders from Thane. You guys rock. Starting from planning everything about the trip to helping each other whenever there was any issues. You guys were always there.

Many more interesting things coming up....Stay glued

Prologue - In preparation before ride

Prologue - Preparations before the ride

                            9 Feb'11 and before that

How would anyone want to start a long ride? This is the question we all ask to ourselves before getting into a long ride.

The most important thing before begining any long ride is making sure your bike is in top notch condition. Keeping this in mind just one week prior to go to Mt.Abu I decided to give my bike for servicing.
I got my brake pads changed, oil change, added engine oil additives, chain cleaning were few of the list that was done.
Same day also met Viraj who also gave his bike for servicing only to get a call in afternoon explaining him that his Radiator was getting dried up and it had to be fixed.. God Bless R15, So finally he got it fixed.
It costed me an hefty Rs.3200 for getting my bike serviced this time & Viraj spent around Rs.3500. Nevertheless we were happy as our bikes were in top condition after servicing.
Rode the bike for almost a week to ensure everything is fine before we get into a very long distant riding. Viraj had met with a minor accident before this trip where he had damaged his front fairing which really bugged him but he somehow managed to convince himself still for this ride.
Did I forget someone. Oh yes! I gave a call to Puneet to make sure everything is fine and he had already got his bike serviced & he just did an oil top up before the ride.
Here I am just 24 hours away from my longest journey guess what I find. Before going to office I went to wash my bike and while washing I find a nail in my rear tire. I said to myself "DAMN" aaj hi ke din hona tha yeh in less than 24 hours before the trip.
Rushed to a local puncture shop where I met small boy who after trying very hard to pull the nail out finally did pull it out after 15 minutes of effort from both of us. It looked as if it was the longest nail I have ever seen.
The boy said its definitely a puncture saab!!! Here it was my first ever puncture in ZMR. Alls well that ends well. After the puncture got fixed I prayed to god for no more surprises before this trip now.

Just 12 hours before the ride I got a call from Puneet asking me , "Dude whats the plan? Are we going to directly go to Mt.Abu or haulting in between?" I gave him a brief idea of what the plan was and he was content with that. Puneet wanted to share the written plan with his parents unfortunately he could n't .
Lastly gave a call to Viraj who was doing night shift which was ending on 0430 hrs and was going to join the ride directly after his shift. I told him to cook some story and get some sleep in the office which he could not do unfortunately.

Many questions still unanswered and coming 4 days full of surprises and unforgettable moments Day 0 passed by.

                            Rest to be continued...
