anyways thanks for your concern and congratulations again for your feat too . would be doing the certification as soon as im done with my other priorities

                Ride Safe.

EDIT: I just saw what you have written in your signature. Excuse me/thank me for pointing it out "Winner of Saddlesore 2011" gives a wrong impression buddy. No one is a winner of an IBA saddlesore, we just complete the ride successfully.

                              • Part4:

Refuelling at the Belgaum petrol Pump was followed by a break there which as usual included sipping onto water, mango drink, having those nutri-bars and again peeing onto some gate when i couldnt find a loo(remember me doing the same at the diesel pump at satara?..may be its what naturally happens when i am disappointed with some petrol pump!)

Okay moving on..we left Belgaum roughly after 6:30am.The dark grey sky was turning into lighter shades of grey and eventually perfect sky blue ! We loved the sun shining onto us but not for long since the brighter it got..it made things difficult for us with helmets with transparent visors.Nevertheless we rode on till this signboard where we decided to take some good rest.

We rested here till 8:40am and then moved on afresh (the small nap was actually helpful to me).We rode for another hour and at around 9:30am took a fuel stop at Chatra,Dist: Haveri. The attendent and others checked us out from head to toe and our bikes too.The attendent,(whom i now recognise as the same one who helped Deepak(pulsurge) refuel his bike on his Bun-Burner Run as shown in his pic here

                                pic courtesy: Deepak Dongre),
was curious to see us in that attire and asked us everything about the ride.We gladly told him about everything and moved on.

Tanmay's Bike's Odo Reading and Receipt

My Bike's Odo Reading and Receipt

Now as we moved on i guess we passed a railway crossing which was obviously open since we didnt realize it(atleast i didnt..dont know if tanmay remembers). But here we have another railway crossing which was closed and we had to wait there for 15mins ! Frustrating! (There was a lot of public there for me to let out my frustration on the gate as i did before!) So we waited and munched onto some more nutri-bars.

Now as soon as the railway crossing gates opened we rushed ahead not wasting much time.We made it a point to follow the straight route to Bangalore and yet reached a point where we saw a diversion with the main road closed. We enquired with some locals who told us that we would have to get in through the town(after making some efforts understanding them and making them understand what we spoke! ).Taking a diversion into some town and coming out on the main highway would have taken a lot of time and chances of getting lost in the traffic were more.We waited there for 5more minutes and enquired much about that place when i remembered Tushar telling me about some diversion which was open for two-wheelers.At the same time a biker told us that we could use the same main road which was mainly closed for some repair work on the bridge but we could safely go across. With more confirmations from others we took that route.

Here are some pictures of the same.

As soon as we crossed the bridge we were more concerned if we were on the right track and made more than necessary haults confirming the way to Bangalore.Luckily we were on the right track.

As our bike's odometer reading showed 800kms we decided to look for a good petrol pump which could provide us with a printed fuel-receipt as our turn-about point. It was here that we realized a four-wheeled vehicle (a santro/M800 i dont remember) was following us for quite sometime. They tried coming next to us but we accelerated ahead as soon as they came close.this happened for sometime when i thought it wasnt safe and we better do something about it.I signalled to Tanmay and asked him to pull-over.They came next to me and stopped. There were two guys in it fairly dark with obnoxious looks. No ! I didnt find time to take out my swiss knife before they...they...they asked me "GFVSTVDBJD GVYDVTYE UHEVVD BIKA HGTYD TESTA"

                                Me: *Blank face*
They: (something in their local language)
I could only understand a few words which they said like 'bike','test','race' when i simply nodded and said.
                                Me: No test...race..ride.
They smiled and moved ahead.May be they thought we were fully geared riders testing bikes with all that masking tape on the tank and stuff.

It was 11:04am here then as shown on Tanmay's bike's odo.

Till 12am we made numerous stops at fuel pumps enquiring if they had a printed receipt system which none of them had! Frustrating was getting down the main highway and making a de-tour to the entrance of a petrol pump.(And to vent out my frustration as i did before i didnt have much water left in my body because of the scorching heat of the sun)

Tired and frustrated we decided to make this petrol pump in Hiriyur as our turn-about point.

The frustration on Tanmay's face can be clearly seen here! LOL

The petrol pump attendents told us that a few kilometers away on the other side of the highway we could find an ATM.We refueled, took manual receipts and went in search of the ATM.

The search for the ATM was even more difficult as we had to go onto the other side of the highway. We came across a dead end and had to return back to find the correct way. Finally we found the ATM a few kilometers away from the petrol pump.A huge crowd gathered there noone following a queue.Infact while one was taking out cash, two others also entered to get some cool air from the AC ! After a while Tanmay and me finally took out receipts and spend some more time taking pics of them as it got even more difficult in the bright sun !

Made some calls/sent texts to a few people informing them about our turn-about-point while having nice cold sugarcane juice next to the ATM.It was much needed with the heat that had turned on because of both, the sun and search for the turn-about point!
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)
