  • our first long ride-1700kms-48hrs

first of all let us introduce ourselves:

    1.harsha(harsha645)-ninja 250r(black)
    2.abhinav(therealabhinav)-ninja 250r(green)

    ROUTE:HYDERABAD-BANGLORE-MELKOTE-MYSORE-BANGLORE-HYDERABAD

    DISTANCE COVERED:1700KMS(APPROXIMATLEY)
    TIME TAKEN:48HRS

it all started when we met for the first time at an xbhpg2g,its then we thought about doing a long ride and just gave a thought abt doing banglore ride but i am not serious then, after a long back we did a speed ride ride of 300kms and its then we decided that we are doing banglore ride.then we decided to do the ride on 4-03-2011.initially our plan is to start early in the morning reach banglore by afternoon and again return to hyd.due to some resons we couldnt make it on that day.and let me say our conversation on the day before

me:so we are doing the ride on saturday ??
abhinav:yep but going till banglore and seeing nothing is a bit diff na?
me:ya ..lets leave hyd friday afternoon,go to mysore on saturday and again return to hyd on saturday night
abhinav:done.lets start at 12 tomorrow afternoon.

    DAY 1:4-03-10 started at 2:00 P.M

i reached his place friday around 11 and our browsed somne details abt banglore city and place sorrounding mysore.checked all the necessary documents.and finally we started around 2 A.M from hyderabad.took our first break at kurnool which is 220kms from hyd we reached there by 3:45 took half an hour break for lunch and its completely a rip fest.started around 4:30 from kurnool and did some 270 odd kms in less than 2 hrs and we stopped for refuelling and to change our visors.at that time the people near th bunk started askin us questions, and one of them asked us whether we are going to banglore to give delivery of the vehicles i was dumbstruck at the question just gave him a smile and left that place .as i didnt have a clear visor i put goggles and lifted the visor. its really a tough time for me.As its night we reduced our speeds and finally we reached at yelahanka in banglore by 8:00 P.M.had our dinner ,cleaned visors its then we decided to stay one more night at banglore and start to hyd on sunday monring.

                      Day 2

We were supposed to wake up at 5am and start by 5.30am in order to avoid the dreaded Bangalore traffic but unfortunately we over slept by 45 minutes and ended up starting from my uncles's at 7am! We had cornflakes for breakfast as it would be easier to digest and at the same time lighter on the stomach, which is undoubtedly a better option oily puri with heavy gravy!

We tried to make our way to ORR but were immediately confused by the over lapping fly overs each going in its own direction and none of which read Mysore on the sign board! We had to check and re-check number of times just to make sure that we're heading in the right direction! A word of advice from an outsider to an outsider wanting to visit Bangalore, do a bit of research about the routes available and never start later than 6am if you're planning on riding to Mysore. It was 8am and we were still stuck in the traffic en-route to the ORR due to multiple railway crossings and road works going on. We managed to keep our patience rather well and the wait was worth it as we eventually got to ride on big roads with vehicles spread out evenly and sign boards overhead repeatedly read Mysore! We rode for 30 minutes or so and decided to fill our ninja's tanks as the reserve light came on (more aggressively for Harshas ninja), whilst being filled our bikes were subjected to a lot of stares, compliments and occasionally an odd question .

We asked for distances and directions of the following places from where we were at that time.
                      Melkote
                      Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple
                      Mysore
                      Chamundeshwari Temple

Once we knew that Mandya was 45kms, we tried to make up for the lost time by riding fast but safely! A guy riding R15 seemed to think it he was in a race or something as he did his best keep up with us and finally we reached to mandya from there we took diversion for melkote, the place is too good, and we started from there after few pics and picked up a different route and reached srirangapatnam.,visited temple there and started to mysore which is roughly 10kms from srirangapatnam, met up with few friends there and we took rest for about two hours there as we felt its too sunny and around at 4 o clock we decided to for a coffee shop and when we are going a person going on bike infront of abhinav took a sudden turn without any indication or signalling and abhinav suddenly breaked and managed not to touch him but some how that person fell from the bike and then he started quarelling with us and the fact is he is drunk(smell)and is coming form the wine shop which is just on the opposite road and crowd began to gather by seeing the bikes and and meanwhile we called our friends who came there in the next minute and finally we decided to pay him to avoid unnecessary time waste and we reached the bajaj showroom along with the person(his bike is discover) he was saying that we need to pay him for new handle, front suspension forks, front fairing, side fairing near back seat.we felt it completely fishy and our friends a their house owner who is a bit influential in that area and the moment he arrived he told us that we should have left him at that place and sped away!!!!! and finally the thing was settled which consumed a lot of time and then we went to a cafe had some snacks and then started for chamundi hills along with our friends WOW!!!!though it was night we enjoyed every moment on our ride to chamundi hills cool breezes, seeing mysore palace light up form the top of hills its simply superb, reached temple spent some time there and started from there and reached a view point had some pics there and started from there stopped again in mysore to bid farewell to our friends and they asked us repeatedly to stay that night in mysore and start the next day morning but we were very keen on reaching banglore that night itself and start for hyderabad the next day morning and finally we started from mysore at 7:45P.M as didnt have a clear visior we decided to reduce our speeds a bit and stopped to fill up my baby and finally we reached out skirts of banglore around 9:15 and stopped for a break and we felt very happy that we reached banglore very fast but it took some time for us realise that it wont be that easy to reach our place through the traffic,we spent nearly 2 hours in the traffic and no reason for kilometers of traffic jams, and finally we managed to reach our place at around 12 o clock, ate pav bhaji!!! cleaned our visors and planned to leave banglore early in the morning!!!!
