Now, that you said this, I would have been highly skeptical of Ninja going to Leh but since you have done Spiti already, I would say that it can do Leh too but you have to be on lookout every moment. Hired Bullet to Leh... not my liking
heck, if a scooter can do Sach Pass & Spiti, an almost 3 lakh bike SHOULD

Ya but, I am super possesive about my bike and Kawi green poses a problem and attracts unecessary attention/ people. And super hard seat makes it tough for the butt. Bullet will be like a sofa as compared to Ninja.

Thanks Bro, this is an experience that I will never forget. Lets hope I have another story to tell after the Leh ride and hopefully a pleasant one.

        • DAY 7- Last day of the ride..
I was happy, happy to have lived another day, happy to have almost completed my journey, happy to get another chance to ride my bike on the highway and most of all it was raining. Morning routines were taken care of and soon after packing I left the hotel. I decided against having breakfast at the hotel as it will take more time than at a dhabha.

This was an uneventful day as it was a routine stuff, yup having done Spiti driving on well laid straight roads seems like a walk in the park. As this was the peak of monsoon season in North India, I did encounter rain on the way, but I didn't stop as now I was used to it. I reached Delhi and my home by lunch time and everyone was pleased to see me.

I will not touch my bike for a month after completing this journey. It took me atleast 2- 3 days rest after reaching Delhi to get back to normal. I think its quite ok beacuse you are riding day in and day out for 7 days and it does take a toll on your body.

Mr. X will reach Delhi the same day, or I should say on the same "date" but at night beacuse he will have a broken chain to take care of. I was the one who used to take care of bike chains by cleaning and lubing them. He never was bothered about such stuff.

Another and more appropriately I should say "Lastly" I wanted to share with you one thing that both of us did not have a fall on this ride. God was being kind and none of us faced a puncture or any other severe issue with the machines.

Well now I have kept my word to complete it and then start planning for the next one, big one, to the mecca, LEH!

                        • August end or September first week is the best time. I also did around the same time last year to be exact from 10th September onwards solo. The roads are in better condition as the BRO people start the repair work around that time with almost no water streams. But the loneliness is just too much, better go in a batch of two or three "likeminded" boys.

Sure mate, I will keep that in mind, I cannot do it alone, "itna chul nahin hai". I am only aprehensive about the weather, might get too cold, right? And till when can one do a road trip of the entire circuit?

                            • A right partner is indeed very important. I too had a lot of bad moments due to this very reason. And guess what I rode back solo from leh, all the way to Lucknow.
Every time i am able to change my bike's engine oil, i feel like passing another semester amongst thousands, of being a proficient rider.
