Hello, just curious. Day 11 & 12: as to why you wouldn't do a Leh ~ Kargil ~ Drass ~ Srinagar ~ Jammu Route.

            My take in BOLD.

Now, try to reverse the plan i.e. onwards via Jammu and return via Manali. Believe me, you would want to see Kashmir when fresh and energetic. You do the clockwise circuit once, you will never do it any other way again. Shaadi engagement key baad hoti hai, peheley nahin, at least in India LOL.

              • Aatif.. The reverse trip will take a toll on your body.. Remember you are going from 8000ft altitude to 15000ft and then back to 10K all in a matter of few 'tiring' nights. Not impossible, but completely avoidable no?

Also if you are so hell bend on climbing from Manali, why not visit Pangong before, and then go to leh, and then Diskit, and then Leh to Kaagil

Ps: I havent been to Leh even once, but have been planning for it for 5 years now, so much that had resigned from my job to go see it, but couldnt. Someday I will

                  Day 9 : June 17th(Sunday)
Are you planning to go via Wari La? Couple of things you need to take care of:
                  1. The pass might not open.
                  2. You will have a long distance to be covered between two fuel stops (Leh to Leh).

If I was you, I would leave Mumbai on Fri eve itself. Ride till midnight/till I feel sleepy.
Will directly go towards Srinagar and proceed to Leh via Srinagar and return via Delhi. Let me know if you want me to share the route that I would do.

To visit Pangong we need permit, available in Leh.
Also, in case fuel station at Karu isn't functional, they will have to either carry fuel from Tandi or goto Leh to tankup.
Also they would reach Pangong by evening and all the acco's near lake might be already taken up, so they would have to stay at either Tangste or Spangmik.

                  • Hi

Hi guys thank for the advise we group of three riders till now we booked train ticket from jammu for our return if go from srinager-kargil route then we have to return from manali to jammu 400km for train it is possible lets see plan may change if route is not open but one of rider got news that route is open already .
Plan is only for reference for what we have to see in leh there is no hard & fast rule for riding only this much distance we are there for enjoying our self not to runing with time.
For me riding is like a medition just kicking of the bike and riding with the wind without any worrys

You can also check the pump at Karu.

I hope you have not planned to go through Agham route for Day 9 as that route is unknown, not advisable and may not be open.

Rather plan Diskit - Leh - Karu - Pangong Tso which is safe.

Also, It would have been much better to acclimatize to high altitude if you would start from Srinagar route and come via Manali.

I see Rohtang as a challenge as it would be full of slush mud and to climb this pass would definitely be tuff so be prepared. Ride Safe!
