Very nice to see a team riding from Mumbai. I have immense respect for all you bikers.
I have not opened a thread of mine yet because I do not want to attract attention. LOL.
We a team of 4 on 2 bikes will leave to Leh from Hyderabad last week of June on a 20 day trip. Will be going via Indore~Jaipur~Delhi~Manali~Sarchu~Leh.
I saw your Itenary. Its fantastic. I know you can make it. Except. Jaipur to Delhi will be good. Find a place in Karol Bagh to stay then get your bike checked/serviced/engine oil changed. Rest all seems just like our plan. Except we will try to visit Tso Moriri.
And Avoid the Nagpur Gwalior Delhi road at all cost - incase.

I hope we all catch up atleast at the start of the ride or somewhere in between. Better yet, we may as well ride from mumbai together upto jaipur atleast..
Whatever, please Keep the thread alive by posting what preperation, checklists etc have been done so far by fellow mumbaikars planning to get leh'd this year.

Precursor ride for Leh 2012
Hello hoodwind and gang,
3 Mumbaikars and I are planning a ride on 29 April as a team building exercise. The route will be as follows:
Mumbaikars: Come down NH 17 to rendezvous at Mangaon, Hotel Gauri. Rendezvous in Mumbai as per their plan. Ask Neville Shroff at (#@!%*$#!$ for details.
Punekars: Via Paud road, Pirangut, Tamhini, RV with Mumbaikars at Mangaon, Hotel Gauri. Rendezvous in Pune opp Chandani Chowk police station, 0600h.
On to Mahad, Bhor, Varandha Ghat, NH - 4, turn North to Khed/Shivapur, Pune. Mumbaikars break-off to Mumbai after Pune.
Total time 12h 05 minutes, incl 2h 25 minutes of breaks for snacks, smokes and susu.
Here is the route chart. Old hands please comment.
If you guys want to join in, you are most welcome. This ride will have mostly non-xBhpians and it is NOT a formal xBhp chapter ride of either Mumbai or Pune so common sense rules apply as regards gear, documentation issues are concerned. All are adults so each expects the other to behave accordingly.

Even we are planning for this mammoth ride starting from Pune from 28th May till the 14th of June, as if now we are only 2 confirmed members for this ride, ill be glad if more people can join if they can accommodate in this plan considering the dates are not flexible for me as per my leaves quota...

Pune- Gwallior - Delhi- Amritsar -Jammu- Srinagar- Kargil- Leh- Khardungla- Nubra- Leh - Pangong- Manali- Dehradun- Jim Corbett- Delhi- Agra- Pune

Saurabh: Apache 180RtR ABS (Not Confirmed)
Eddie vaz: CBR 250 (Not Confirmed )
