  • Hi

    [QUOTE=Sachinnair;810777.

Rather plan Diskit - Leh - Karu - Pangong Tso which is safe.

Also, It would have been much better to acclimatize to high altitude if you would start from Srinagar route and come via Manali.

I see Rohtang as a challenge as it would be full of slush mud and to climb this pass would definitely be tuff so be prepared. Ride Safe![!
We will take same route as you said thanks for suggestion you had taken your ZMR to leh how she perform with such low ground clearnce

I shared similar thoughts for ground clearance when I was planning to go however Ananth another Xbhpain had taken ZMR to Leh without any issues.

ZMR has got a ground clearance of 159mm which is pretty good and I did not face any issues with the same in the entire trip.

Being an FI bike there were no major issues I faced however you would feel power loss while climbing the passes but manageable.

Only Major breakdown in our group was for Yamaha Fazer who could not climb Khardung La and then the next failed to climb Chang La

look for LEH MARATHON thread in tourer section.

delhi-leh via manali route in less than 33 hour on cbr by none other than KURTRULES. i think this is enough for a cbr guy to take his bike for this ride.

and there is another guy who did spiti circuit on ninja.

and not to forgot our OLDFOX sir's ride.

there are many more if you look for, apna DK bhi toh hai.

just take your bike out and ride safe, you will never forgot this dream ride of your life.

Not to worry.. Just take it & forget everything
Infact IMO, CBR will be the bike which will climb most easily than the others on high altitudes..!!
Maneuvering may vary, but thats manageable.

IMO, CBR guy should be the least worried guys of you 3. CBR has PGM-Fi, it is the most powerful of the 3, fat rear tire.

For the other 2 bikes, it is definitely possible to take the bikes there, however ensure your bikes on in top notch condition. Carry Tool kit, puncture kit, foot pump, spare cables, carry extra levers, replace clutch plates if they have been used a lot, etc etc.

                • Dont forget to carry disc pads.. If needed you will never find it in Leh.. They are most vulnerable if you are fortunate to ride in mud/muck.

                    • Really, Agham - Shyok route might not be open and it really depends on their luck if they do find it open hence, suggested a safer route with fuel option.
Fuel would also be a big challenge as last fuelling stop would be Leh, I am not sure if Diskit has petrol availability.

If you guys really want to try that route you can try as suggested above or if it is not open then alternatively if Wari La is open you can try to go via Wari La - Upshi - Pangong Tso. This might mean you'll end up riding 13-15 hours if you want to reach Pangong in one day. Just in case if it gets hectic, you would also have the option to stay at Karu/Upshi or Tangste if you want a comfortable ride till Pangong.

                      Ride Safe!

For me riding is like a medition just kicking of the bike and riding with the wind without any worrys

Hi Aatifs, I see your plans. I am ok with it.
Is if possible if I can join you guys from Jaipur on day 2 - day3?

Thanks for the confirmation, however today few friends are agreed to go for Road Trip to Kashmir (As they aren't ready/confident for Leh Ride). Therefore, I am kinda thinking to join them instead of riding to Leh.

Hopefully, I'll get Leh'd in next season.

Still not sure... confirm you guys soon.. thanks
