You are so right Guru. Goa has a large number of churches from the Portuguese period spread all over the state, sometimes in the remotest of places. It's admirable how with limited funds but lots of faith and will, the people have maintained them so well for us to admire.

Yes Phani, it is the road from Honnavar to Jog. There are still a few average patches near Sagar but still very rideable. Road construction work is in progress and hopefully the entire section will be ready soon. There are sections (like the one in the picture you selected) where the road is very narrow and if you encounter an on coming bus you may have to go off the road.
I guess if you like a slow, cool, scenic and enjoyable ride this is the choice

                      Simply awesome!!!!

I myself try to visit Goa once year, last year could not do it. Hopefully don't miss my Goa pilgrimage this year!

-Which beach is that? The one with lifeguard boat/hut?
-Good to see that you took the two best routes to reach Goa How is the Shimoga-Sagar stretch now, it was a bit broken last time I was there?
-It was interesting to read that you got married in Goa. That is just WoW

Keep the spirit of riding up sir! Hats off to you and mam, you both are an inspiration to many of us

The beach with the lifeguard hut is Colva Beach at South Goa (Very crowded, especially in the evenings). The sunset pics in the same link are taken at Majorda beach- about 5k.m further North. It's much more relaxed with sparse crowd.(We stayed nearby for a week).
As you will know, The NH4 (BLR-Hubli) then Yellapur-Ankola-Karwar-Goa is the fastet route to get to Goa. The Shimoga-Sagar stretch is shorter but takes longer because of the single roads and small towns to pass through but is so much more scenic and cool. Road repair works are in progress and except for a few patches its quite rideable.
Hope you do make a ride when possible and take a much needed break from your hectic work schedule

                        Best Wishes & Ride Safe

Thank you for the info. South Goa is some place I am yet to explore, North Goa is done dusted in almost its entirety

I too hope the coming months show some respite from this insanity called work

                          Cheers!
