Today's plan ? No plan. Ride ride and just ride

Route opted --> Sawantwadi --> Amboli --> Kolhapur --> Satara --> Lonavla --> Mumbai. Total distance covered approx 613 kms. Total riding time approx 18 hours (inclusive of breaks and thanks to foggy roads and rains)

All slept late at 1 because of lots of Bakar and memorising the quality time spent, sharing experiences, some emotional atyachaar wala stories , etc. We decided to start early by 6 so that we reach Mumbai as early as possible. All woke up by 5 but no body wanted to go home. Slowly, steadily and lazily we got ready and we were all set for the ride. Left Tarkarli by 6.30 and took few shots before we started...

        Attack mode !!!

        That's me

Next halt was at an fuel pump enroute Sawantwadi. Lafda Lafda Lafda !!! Rohan tanked up fuel of Rs.750/- but the petrol pump guy swiped his CC for Rs.7500. Got the extra bucks encashed. Rohan had a big on his face. He was like... "Accha hua kharche ke liye paise mil gaye but saale zyada time nahi rahega paisa wallet mai" We wasted around half an hour at the fuel pump.

I wanted to do a full tank but that guy took it damn serious and filled it literally to the tank lid. After riding for few kms, my bike suddenly started losing power. I wasn't able to take it 80+. Sushil slowed down and asked me what's the problem. I told him the issue. Rohan told me that it would be vaccum issue in the tank. Opened the lid and let air pass and yeah it worked. Everyone was hungry so we decided to halt after Sawantwadi for breakfast. Pavan was like... "Mala 2 omlette pav pahije, baaki chi order nantar" Everyone had the same question in their minds... "Saala itna khaata hai, lekin jaata kahape hai ???"

Anyways, had heavy breakfast which included omlette pav, misal pav, wada pav, mirchi (chilly) bhajiyaas and finally tea. Clicked just one pic of the mirchi bhajiyaas and proceeded towards Amboli ghat. The ascend of the ghat is wonderful. Wet curves covered with blanket of trees, hairpin bends and S curves. Reached at the fall and the fotoshoot started. Lots of birds were present too.

Well, lets concentrate on the pics now. Final set of pics were clicked over here. Enjoy !!!

        Mirchi bhajiyaa

        Birdsssss

        Me with Pandey ji

kicking Pandey ji (I didn't really kicked it)

        Nirvana !!!

        Hayapavusa with the Pandey

        Kaala Bicchuaa !!!

We were all set to ride further. After descending thru the foggy and curvy ghat, my bike started again to give jerks and power was again going down. Opened the lid and let the air pass and it worked but it was working only for few kms. At one time, we literally spilled out fuel on the road but same. The fuel level for some unknown reason was not going down. Just before NH4, told the issue to an mechanic. He also told us that the issue is of vaccum. He took off 1 ltr of petrol and filled in Rohan's bike. Rode for few kms without any issue but again still the same

Finally somehow we reached NH4 intersection and showed the issue to another mechanic. He told me to open the tank lid, remove the fuel pipe and let the fuel flow on the ground. Went for an short test ride and it worked perfectly well. I was able to take my bike 120+. All set to drag on NH4 in the rains. My bike did well upto Satara and again the same issue started. I decided to drag in same condition.

(We were wrong about the vaccum issue. Showed the bike to mechanic after almost 1 month after the ride. My clutch plates had worn out might be because of the Leh Ladakh ride. Got new plates and my baby was good to go)

We all were riding almost in triple digits. Average riding speed was 74-75 kmph. Rains and cold made all of us hungry. Took a break in Satara and munched whatever we had at the stall. Called up dad and got to know that its raining cats and dogs in Mumbai. That break lasted for around 45mins.

All geared and set to roll. Next halt was at the Katraj tunnel where Rohan had a close call at the exit. He was riding at 120+ and somehow missed the curve and he had to negotiate the corner at almost same speed. We were following him and found him standing after the tunnel on the left. We also stopped and saw him shivering. He narrated the incident and we had it recorded in the Kodak play sport cam which was mounted on Rohan's bike. Damn !!! His guardian angel was riding with him. All back to senses and continued the ride and next break was at Pune.

The moment we neared Lonavla, dense fog and rain gods attacked us which thereby reduced our speed to arnd 30-40 km/h. Fully drenched, shivering, sleepy and finally we reached ST bus stand at Lonavla. Cold and shiver had taken toll on us. Wanted to munch something hot so misal pav it was at the ST canteen. Sushil wanted to take a power nap so after having misal, he found a place to rest his butt. Home was just 100kms away but it seemed like impossible at that time. Everyone wanted to reach home desperately after such a "TOOFANI" ride. We all were thinking of spending night in Lonavla itself at some lodge but later we decided to ride further.

Geared up and we were all set to ride again. Dense fog and rain gods attacked again the moment we started descend towards Khopoli. Slowly and steadily we crossed the ghat. Somewhere on the NH4, Pavan suddenly pulled over to left and said... "Mala zop yetey". "OK" was the answer as everyone was going thru the same situation Small bakar break of 15 mins and we were all set again. Last break was at Kalyan intersection. Bid bye bye and all dispersed. The most TOOFANI, RAINY, FOGGY and what not ride finally came to an end. We everyone had overdose of this year's monsoon. Everyone reached safe, sound, happy and tired...

and the saga of never ending Bakar continues...
