The Sarjekot Episode...

Delicious surmai fry (kingfish), yummy prawns fry, fingerlicking chicken gravy and satisfied bikers... One of the main reason to ride 500+kms from Mumbai. Enjoyed good local sea food until our tummies were full and minds satisfied. Our next spot was Sarjekot Bunder (port). I had been there only once so the roads were confusing and we took an wrong turn which led to lil bit of offroading thru loose sand, thorny shrubs and finally to an shore. There were just 2-3 fishermen on the beach and the actual Sarjekot Bunder (port) could be seen from the shore. Damn !!!

So what??? We discovered a new spot and the photo session started. Rohan and me wanted to ride on the beach so we took our bikes on the beach. The moment we landed on sand, our bikes started sinking slowly in the sand. We immediately got down and pushed our bikes out one-by-one in 1st gear. Phew !!! Rohan and me were sweating like anything.

Few clicks there and we wanted to go to Sarjekot Bunder (port). Inquired locals and the road to port was just an next right turn away...

Our beloved Hayapavusa












Once the fotosession was done, we started towards the famous Bharadi Devi Temple at Angnewadi. Drizzling rain had started by then. By the time we reached the temple, it was raining like mad cats and dogs. Fully drenched we took the darshan and rushed to an nearby snacks and tea stall. All were shivering very badly and were very hungry. Ordered garma garam cutting chai, biscuits and chips. Spent around 30-45 mins over there in the hope that force of rains will diminish but the force was increasing and so also the daylight was getting dim. We decided to make a move in those heavy rains. Some patches on the roads were filled with water and sometimes leading us to Hydroplane modes.

Finally reached Malvan city in daylight itself. Everybody was like... "Ye ride kuch zyaada hi toofani ho raha hai" We wanted to purchase cashews and some local sweets, so we headed towards the market. Returned home after shopping, had dinner and after an longggg bakar session, called off for the day.

At the market...










Though it was local site seeing, but it was very memorable and toofani. Next day was the return journey day. Route opted was Sawantwadi --> Amboli --> Kolhapur --> Satara --> Lonavla --> Mumbai. Our plan was to visit Amboli ghat, some clicks along with bird watching and once we hit NH4, just drag, drag and drag...
