  • [Photo Feature]: Hurrah! K-TOP conquered from Hyderabad in two days.

Na! It is not Khardung La. K-TOP = Kodachadri

It has been my dream to visit Kodachadri and finally it happened. I was the happiest soul on the top of the Kodachadri. A special allowance to us was the Full Moon. Yes! We climbed kodachadri at night. The trip was no less than an adventure.

The details of the ride as follows.

    Riders:
    ravi@17bhp (Ravi) on Red Zma.
caravikiran (Ravi kiran) on Blue P220.
HydBiker (Krishna Prasad aka KP) on Blue R-15

    Number of Days: 5 days.
Total Number of Kilometers: 1980 km (out of which around 800 km in ghats)

    Route:
    Day 1:
    Hyderabad - Karnool - Gooty - Gunthakal - Ballari - Chitradurga.
    Day 2:
Chitradurga - Shimoga - Sagar - Hosnagara - Nagara - Kodachadri (Initial plan was to Jog falls hence we headed towards Sagar, but at Sagar the plan was changed and headed towards Kodachadri).

    Day 3:
    Kodachadri - Nagara - Thirthahalli - Agumbe - Sringeri

    Day 4:
    Sringeri - Kudremukha - Kalasa - Hornadu - Beluru - Hasan - Yadiyur

    Day 5:
    Yadiyur - Kunigal - Tumkur - Dodballapur - Chikballapur - Ananthapuram - Karnool - Hyderabad.

We reached our first destination after two days, thanks to the worst roads between Guntakal to Ballari and Chitradurga to Shimoga.

We were riding in ghats for three days and the fourth day, I was wishing when would the ghats be over. We have seen extremes of roads, excellent like race circuit roads to very worst roads where we were able to do 10 min a km.

The bikes have got lot of torture and were able to sustain the abuse. We were able to do Kodachadri from the bottom of the hill to top in just 45 min (excluding 15 min break) at night.

    Some teasers

    And, A special photo....

Good one there! You nearly had us believing!!! But congratulations nonetheless. Though we have no idea without a text describing how far one has to push or how adventurous it actually is.

Good to see people seriously using riding gear. Keep it up.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Thanks Ken! At least I had one. Yup, knew very well the importance of riding gear. In fact, many times a few of our hyderabadi xbhians saved their lives.

But dude, I lost the DSG jacket at Sringeri-hornadu stretch.

Yeah MG! Just Ravikiran told me that he spoke with you. In fact I told him, MG will wait only for the pics.

And it is pretty quick with me down with sore throat and mild fever yesterday. Today got some time in office, and thought of uploading some pics.

We were discussing what to do in Sringeri, and all of a sudden Sunil greeted us seeing the xbhp stickers. I know sunil a bit and was really happy to see him there. Got some good points from him where to visit and how to go.

It was pure joy to ride through this stretch. It is between Sringeri to hornadu route. It passes through Kudremukha National Park. Superb road and amazing scenery on either side. We were in heaven on this road.
