  • [Photo Feature]: LehD in company of angels -just like a bright dream - Solo ride

Just like any new rider, biker, photographer, adventurer, Leh Ladakh was one dream territory worth conquering, that too on Bike.
Just listening to the adventure of the leh rides, may be from Legenderay Bulleteers, about those Paagal Naalaa's
from amry guys posted there, from foreigners, from my collegues in Mountaineering course, would make that spike of energy some where in my brain.

The Leh Keeda was planted by the heated discussions, preparations especially by the SMS trio,( sudeep xenologik, Sunny panchal, Maitrey Marfatia..) who had planned for their 45 days north Indian expedition, which was not for me as 45 days leave means to resign from my job

    Intro of my self-

Very new to biking, that to touring for first time solo
    Ride -CBR250R ABS 2011
Odo clocked before Leh -11428km - mysteriously 12000kms wud be my total biking experience. as CBR was my first bike...
Solo riding experience- a bit of here and there - 500km trips
Profession - Mechanical engineer @ ONGC, Ahmedabad
Other interests - Photography, Mountaineering, trekking.

    Main Highlights of the tour

    1. Sipping past the Delhi traffic and moving in at 140kmph with a heck load of luggage at noon time in NH1 to Chandigarh.

2.Falling thrice in the ice cold Streams of Spiti valley

    3.Camping @ Chandratal- wouh - what a night with the Apsara's

4.Almost Loosing a brand new Galaxy S3 to the twisities

5.Getting to know many fellow riders from different part of the world (yeah world)

6.Getting to Khardungla on the first anniversary of My Baby Blade- Adriana

7.To witness the inauguration of Drass- Kargil –Operation Vijay War Memorial

All together it was pure luck, blessing from Almighty, help from Friends

    thanks to
1.Ayas Mansuri- for all the advice, preparation, last minute help and everything else
    2. Rutvij Achara - for being aid at station
    3. Maitrey- to call me up at Upshi, and for lifting my bike up from the Nalla ( u know where )
    4. Sunny- for the best shots, Moong dal and chocolates
    5. Sudeep- the permits and company till srinagar
    6. Dinesh Dawda- for details Explanation of the Leh journey
    7. Chintan -for explaining what not to do
    8. Akash - for saddle bag
    9. Swaroop Srinivasan - the small and long chats to explain the in depth details.
10- all my dear friends who helped in every way

    11. for the wonderful company given by Amit thakur & Varun Manchanda- Chandratal Camping
    12. Sumit Mason, Vikas, Chirag, and others for the wondeful company from Sarchu to Upshi
    13. Wildcraft- or the One man tent

Request to moderator - please approve the thread, in spite the journey was undertaken a long back, my trip log was pending work for me.

Earlier Ayaz Bhai had posted a few pics of the preparations and where i too tried to post the updates, but lost in time...

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

The ride preparation and Day 1

Preparation- mainly the carrier to support the saddle bag and a Jerry can.

one pic should say it allBike N me( clicked by Ayaz Mansuri)

Got some snacks after getting my luggage to platform, and much of tension ceased after checking the status of bike loaded to the train safely. Time had come to bid adieu to Ahmedabad for the dream leh trip as the train started to move.

Dreaming about Leh just brought some goosebumps, called my parents to inform - i'm headed to Leh and in train now.

Sunrise at the camp site- what a view, Amit cooking our breakfast in the kerosene pump stove and Pressure cooker.

After the hot meal, we took some time off to rest inside the tent. Sleeping bags were so comfy and heating inside the down feather sleeping bag was so soothing comfort. Cold air blown into the valley enters the tent from the vent side. At dawn time we could here the whistle sound by the shepherds to gather round their flock of sheep and goats from the mountainous green patches. The view of sun setting in to the valley was breathtaking. I wished to stay like that for some more days in company of my friends.
