Hope you enjoyed riding the tarred roads on way to Leh. Hope they are being maintained well since my last trip in September, 2011 (When RedBull Team was also there in October, 2011-which I did not know then but was amazed to see the perfect roads at this high altitude).
Thanks Sir, yes we did encounter awesome roads in patches. I still remember Namik La was awesome. It felt like you are driving in a "phoren" country.

Day 3: Sonmarg to Mulbekh (160 kms)

I think I got up around 7:00 a.m. and saw my mates still asleep. I know for sure that Sumit was fast asleep, Anshul was up and was being lazy in the bed. He was usually the first one to get up in the morning. I somehow was unusually active that morning. Perhaps it was the eagerness to get going and cross the mighty Zojila before the entire world decides to do the same or it was due to the fact that I had a good night's sleep. I moved out into the adjoining balcony and boy oh boy what a nice view it was.

I picked up my Cannon and moved out of the room to click few prize winning pics.

The next few are sunrise pics clicked from the room balcony:-

Soon we started getting ready to leave. We packed up everything, had breakfast and soon hit the road. There was some nervousness/ excitement as to what lies ahead and we three carried on with a commitment to stick together through all the thick and thin. I think soon we were out of Sonmarg and the climb started, there was no checkpoint at that moment.

      to be contd...**

**I have been planning to write Day 3 from home as I can check the time when all these pictures were clicked. This story becomes interesting if I bring in the time element. But sadly I have been keeping busy on weekends due to corporate cricket matches. I am breaking this thread now with a promise to continue it further from home, asap.
