Day 8 Kapilash to (Simlipal->Chandipur) Bhubaneswar
22nd March 2013
One of the temple priest Prashant Pati told me about the temple and the various stories attached with the temple. After spending some peaceful time at the beautiful temple I left to come back to the room.
One of the hairpin bends of the steep climb up to the temple.
The stairs that leads to the temple at the bottom of the hill.
10 am I was back and started my packing and in an hour I again hopped onto my bike all set to move.
My ZMR parked just beside my room at the OTDC run Panthashala at Kapilash.
I got a few visitors who had come to say me good bye.
The Kapilash Panthashala all for me as I was the only one staying there.
I called up my friend Ranjan to let him know that I will be coming by afternoon. I took the Bhubaneswar route via Tangi. Somewhere in between as I was crossing some forest roads I was stopped by a couple of forest guard. They asked me where I was going. They asked all types of questions a curious mind could think of and before letting me go they warned me about elephants crossing the road and not to stop if I find to see some of them. But my bad luck I did not find any elephant crossing or even somewhere around. Later I realized that actually it was good luck as they can be even more dangerous that a tiger for that matter.
Adda time with Ranjan in Bhubaneswar.

Re: Experience of lifetime... a Ride to remember !!
Kudos on your passion, courage to go for it, and taking the efforts! Hats off!!
Just read page 1. The Malegaon you rode by is not 'Malegaon ka Superman' wala. I am from Washim, which is the district of Malegaon. The movie wala Malegaon is one where bomb blasts happened, I think it's in Nashik district.

Day 9 Bhubaneswar - Konark-Puri - Bhubaneswar
23rd March 2013
I had reached one of the pit stops of my journey. Today on cards were Konark and Puri, and for company was my friend Ranjan. This also meant that I was not talking to myself pondering over what I did wrong and what could have been done to avoid or correct that mistake. I could excuse myself from such self development thoughts today because I had for company my friend.
Ranjan and I got ready by 9:30 am and left but we got stuck in the narrow road near old that leads to the NH 203 connecting Bhubaneswar and Konark-Puri. It took us almost one hour to leave the city behind and start speeding on the smooth wide roads. The construction of the road was carried on this route to make it a four lane highway because of which we were switching the sides on the half side of the constructed lane. The road was smooth and if the construction is complete it will be bliss to ride on such wide open roads.
We decided to go to Konark first and then to Puri and then by evening will return back to Bhubaneswar. So somewhere before Pipili we took the left onto the single lane road and via Nimapada we reached The Sun Temple of Konark by 11:30 am.
After spending some good time we left for Chandrabhaga beach by 1:00 pm. The mighty waves, the silver sand and the forest along the coast and this being a lot less crowded in comparison to the Puri beach it is an ideal place for a nice evening walk along the beach. Let me tell you that it is quite dangerous to venture inside the sea because of its strong currents.
Ranjan with the Chandrabagha Beach in the background.
After facing the mighty sea for half an hour we left for Puri and took the Konark-Puri Marine drive. We were riding beside the sea on most part of that 30 kms or so journey. We decided to take a halt at Ramchandi. The sea water has been trapped between the main land and the elevated sand dunes and local fishermen run their boat service to the main sea and they say that you can find Dolphins occasionally. There is also the Ramchandi temple which is a great picnic location. The famous surf and beach festival is also held along these beaches during the early part of the year.
me enjoying the boat ride for a change
The boat that brought us here has been anchored as we ventured on this beach away from the beach.
Ranjan excited to see the mighty sea across the river created by the sea itself.
Did not spot a dolphin but saw a sad scene. Numerous Olive Ridley Turtles were lying dead along the beach line.
Returned back and started the next 22 kms of our journey towards Jagannath Puri. By this time it was already 3:00 pm. After almost 40 minutes we ended the enjoyable marine drive ride as we reached Gundicha Temple where Lord Jagannath along with Balabhardra and Subhadra come from Jagannath Temple to stay for seven days during the famous Puri Rath Yatra.
Ranjan at Puri Beach.
That's me!!
Puri beach and sun already set.

Day 10 and 11 Bhubaneswar
24th March 2013
Here my ZMR was revitalized and meanwhile at his home Ranjan was also taking rest to re-energize himself. After all I was not leaving town so soon
I can relate to him, but as of now I was on a mission and possessed
By evening 5:00 pm we left to go towards our college campus. A lot of development in terms of infrastructure has happened. A lot of malls have come up and the roads have been expanded. Even our college has grown by leaps and bounds.
Just a few kms is the famous Nandan Kanan zoo from our college. It was dark and I knew that it has been closed but still had a small ride upto the zoo.
A new botanical garden has come up near the Nandan Kanan zoo. We went there riding on the sides of the lake. Nice evening and it was quite dark. The ambient light of the city line was reflecting in the lake and it was beautiful. We decided to come here the next day but we were disappointed to know that both the zoo and the botanical garden remain closed on Monday.
Returned back and went to Forum Mart, the first Mall of Bhubaneswar. There we celebrated our friendship with pizza and some chicken wings
Day 10 ended on a sweet note!
25th March 2013
I went to the old alleys where I spent my most memorable days. Though everything was same, a lot was different! Spent some ME time on the terrace of the building where I used to stay. All those memories came refreshing and I smiled as tears came out to see if I was fine.
I visited few other places which have great place in my memories.
After this we went to the Lingraj Temple.
While returning we also checked out the new airport terminal that had come up recently.
