  • Solo ride to Yelagiri Hills on my 2 year old Star City 110

Hi All I am Pramod a passionate biker since 2 years. This is my first solo ride and first travelog. I want to do this ride to celebrate my Bikes 2nd anniversary
on Jan 26, but couldn't do it do to some reasons and said next weekend and the next weekend came again same case. Finally i did it on FEB 16 2014.

Yelagiri hiss is a small hill station in Vellore district, Tamil nadu. Its at an altitude of 3500 FT. Its a nice place far from commercialization.
Less crowded secure place hence it forms a good weekend getaway from Bangalore.
    Plan
Yelagiri hills is around 160 KM from Bangalore(Whitefield to be precise) via Hosur, Krishnagiri. I have planned to start at 5AM and planned to leave Hosur by sun rise but i got up at 3AM and couldn't sleep hence started my ride at 4.23AM and left Krishnagiri by sunrise. I expected to reach Yelagiri by 7.30 but reached at 8.30 due to frequent stops.
Road condition is awesome(NH7 and Krishnagiri Chennai Highway. If you are going by Car you can reach their in 2 hrs, but it took me 4 hrs to reach there as i was on an 110 cc bike and took frequent brakes to check whether i am going on correct path.
If you check in google maps it shows you Below route don't take it as it takes more time and there is a possibility of closing the railway gate at Jolarpet. This road condition is quiet decent without any path holes but goes inside Jowlarpet hence there might be some traffic jam or people will be gossiping in the middle of the road and they won't move even you honk at them.

If you are traveling on 2 wheelers or willing to compromise on road condition(with pot holes) for 5KM then take this alternate road.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Had food here. Its in left side in the entrance to Yelagiri hills opposite to Nature park. He served good crisp masala dosas charged me 125 for a liter of miniral watter, 2 Masala dosa's and a cup of good coffee(not filter its an instant coffee ) but good.

Went for trekking. The trek is 6KM to and fro (got from some site haven't measured :P). It is decently clean not much people have been there and if you are feeling little adventurous want to put a tent and relax if you pay 50RS to any cow boy then they will take you to good place(I never tried got to know from a fellow trekker) .
The trek is an easy one but worth trekking.

Some pics inside Nature Park. There is an entry fee of 15RS per person. But worth it. Well maintained clean. Nice place if you are going with family.
