Please spare me for the OT, but I have a noob-ish query here:

I read online that all pan shots can have upto 20-40% overlap but they must be shot in quick succession. How do you guys manage to shoot the clouds and people which obviously will be moving all the time?

Re: Photo-Riders to Narkanda - Jalori - Hatu

Well Divya Sharan......the way I do my Pano-s....is first I set my camera settings according to the subject am shooting...by taking some single shots...one done...I set a start point (the left hand side of the pic) & the end point (the right side of the pic)....then I being the manual tripod for the camera will have to be as much as possible stable and the rotate the camera from Start Point (left) till I reach the End Point (right)....now here,in between u may choose to select any number of pictures....but I have noticed if your no. of images are more (above 20 lets say)...then at times the output pano doesn't come that good....so these days I keep it between 12-15 shots..and when I shoot these pics...I try to maintain the horizon as a straight line,so that while stitching the photos together,it looks good.... I don't exactly see what all are coming in my pic,so that I get a natural output...be it clouds,people,car,animal....

so,this is how I shoot my pano-s...diff photographers will have diff methods possibly...its all abt R&D.... Hope this helps buddy.

Exactly my point here! How much delay do you give between 2 consecutive shots while moving the camera on the tripod?

And some lovely pics there. Kudos!

Day 3 Riding Hatu - Hotel - Delhi

As soon as we were done with clicking the Sunrise we started our descend and remembered that we had to shoot near the man made small water reservoir. So me, Samrat and Abhishek took our sweet little time there. Rahul went ahead and had his breakfast in the meantime .
Few shutter rounds near the reservoir (pics later) and we moved to the restaurant for our breakfast.
At almost 8a.m we were all set to say Goodbye to this beautiful place and go back to our respective busy and boring lives and not to forget the Delhi summers.

As decided we stopped at the same Chai wala again for a small break, and believe me when I say, if you are even planning for Shimla as holiday destination, please AVOID. Its hot, its crowded, its same as Delhi. We were pissed off with the traffic that we had to dodge.

While we were crossing Solan, we saw some Superbikers, later on came to know that they were from Delhi (BOSS group and Live2Ride Group).

Another good thing happened was that just after this SBK thing, we saw some shooting going for film/show on the hill road and saw Rajpal Yadav sitting on a chair. It was already hot and we had to cover the maximum distance as soon as possible, so we decided to keep on moving and meet at Zirakpur KFC for Lunch.

Abhishek as usual was 10-15minutes ahead of us. He decided to have quick lunch and leave for home before us, so we bid him goodbye and we took some more time for our lunch and started our ride back to Delhi.

As its a straight road, we 3 were doing 90-100 almost most of the time. We stopped once for petrol and once for water.
The final kms were slow riding to me as I was missing the twisties. I was already planning my Leh trip in my head by this time.
Yes, Leh - Ladakh is coming this September.
