Hi

As per my information, there is no threat to pitch a tent in Chansal Pass. Did you get any such information from any quarter, please do share with us. As for ourself, we won't be camping out at Chansal pass as we are short of one day as 2nd October is going to be a working day for us and would be leaving as soon as we are free from office.

Would be looking for your Black ZMR on this route.

No Sir, I didn't get any such information. I just wanted to ensure as we are planning to pitch a tent.. we are just 3 in number and we have 2 tents.. Thank you for your clarification

I dont think there is any kind of threat from animals to you, opposite is possible though.

I will be crossing Dun tomorrow evening. Maybe a stay back there or somewhere nearby. Might even call you up in case i need help with accommodation [emoji3] how is the mobile network up there near chanshal pass? Upto where can I expect network to be stable to an extent..

As per my knowledge, airtel/bsnl connection would be available upto Larot and may/or may not get connectivity at Chansal Pass. Might get 2G connectivity also till Larot.

Petrol pump available only a little further to Vikasnagar (on Uttarakhand side) and upto a little further to Rohru (on Himachal side). May get fuel in grey market at Tiuni.

Today you may get rain on the way to Chakrata.

After a long long wait, I could get a photograph of the God sent Angel who saved me from the fateful night ride at Tanglang Top where the ice had frozen to hard ice sheet and I was not able to even lift it. Had waited for around 30 minutes in the bone chilling freezing night in heavy snow fall at the Top when suddenly Imtiaz Ahmed came driving his Taxi from Manali side to Leh and immediately he pushed me inside the car and drove me all the way 60 kms to Upshi where they (Imtiaz and the army Captain and his colleague) found a hotel for my comfortable stay. But for this timely help, I would have died due to hypothermia in another few minutes.

I solute to his timely help. Long Live Imtiaz Ahmed
