Nice travelogue. i am also from pune city and my hometown is near Narayangoan. And guess what i was in Dhule the same weekend. But i travelled from Kalyan to Dhule with my friends in a car.

Glad to know, Dhule and its surrounding areas are truly beautiful this time of the year. Should you see road conditions improve around Narayangaon, do let us know by posting. From Pune, this is perhaps the best route to Nasik amongst others.

Riding buddy Gurpratap had the opportunity to sit on Rossi's Yamaha M1 at the Auto Expo 2018. Needless to say, an epic moment indeed for him.

Separately, Francis from Goa was awarded the Big Five Trophy and was on stage to be awarded for winning the chapter of the year 2nd place for Goa. It was a proud moment for him as Asst Director of Goa HOG. Well done buddy.

Gurpratap and I set out for Goa at 5.30 am on February 23 - 25. We stopped before Khambatki ghat to warm ourselves with tea amidst some fine cool morning weather and the sun beginning to rise across the horizon.

We stopped for a quick tea and irrigation break near Karad and thereafter for fuel in Gurpratap's bike from the Reliance pump before Sai Inn, Kolhapur.

We stopped for breakfast at Nipani and thereafter reached Belgaum where we refueled enough to get us across the ghat and into Goa. We bumped into a young doctor from KLE hospital Belgaum who was out for a day ride and exchanged pleasantries (thanks for subscribing to my YouTube channel). As we began our descent into Goa post the noon the weather turned warm and humid. Not the best of riding conditions!

We made it for lunch to Fat Fish at Arpora in Goa by 2pm and settled down for a scrumptious lunch of steak and crab thermidor. Having filled our hungry tummies we checked into our hotel which is just behind Fat Fish restaurant called Primo Ben Tera Verde, our crib for the next two days.

That evening we hired a local scooter and rode down to Candolim beach for dinner. We were joined by our buddies Francis, Craig, Micheal and Norman. It was a perfect evening filled with cool breeze, good bonhomie, music, dancing and the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Check out the snazzy public toilet with RO filter for drinking water at the entrance to Candolim beach. The next day we met with Mac Vaz, another friend who took us out for lunch at the Panjim Gymkhana to the newly opened Ritz restaurant. The meal was relaxed and spread over a couple of hours with some off the best seafood I have ever had. We returned back to the hotel thereafter and had our chai whilst wiping our bikes down for the ride home the next day.

A few pictures from various morning rides over the weekend's and taken over the last month. Most of our rides have been to Lonavla / Amby Valley and some to Wai. With summer upon us, the rides tend to begin a tad earlier than usual and the return having us home by around 9.30am. It is truly heart warming to see so many bikes out on the weekend with like minded folks, fully geared up and with a smile on their face. This surely must be the Mecca for bikes in this part of the world.

Separately Deep aka Captain Ducati, is back for a couple of months till he rejoins his ship and being an impulsive chap pulled a ride covering the whole South of India to places like Dhanushkodi, Kanyakumari, Kodaikanal, Kerala and Goa. A lid off to you brother to brave this heat and fullfilling your destiny.

Gurpratap and I rode on both days over the last weekend. We decided to head for Lavasa on Saturday which was after almost a year since we last rode there. The area till Pirangut has exploded with development and despite the early morning has seen a marked increase of traffic. Thereafter the approach till the dam is so-so and one needs to be cautious. Surprisingly we met the usual lot of bikers at the tapri just outside the main entrance to Lavasa. They were happy to see us after ages and then followed all the catching up over tea, Maggi noodles and anda bhurji. If you are looking for a brief respite from the scorching heat these days, then head to Lavasa in the early morning.



The following morning Sunday we set out for Lonavala which was packed with bikers and some lovely bikes. Caught up with Triumph gang who were out for a event ride. Kedar (Street Twin & Street Triple) and Deepak (Ninja 1000) had both been to the South for a ride albeit separately. It is always nice to hear stories from other riders about road conditions, places, food and experiences. On the way back and very close to the station in Pune, I saw a couple of scooter riders who had met with an accident and were lying on the road looking in pretty bad shape. Yet another No helmet, No gear mishap.

Gurpratap and I have been riding each weekend this month of May but to all the usual haunts like Lonavala, Amby Valley, Wai etc. Last Sunday we included our daughter's for a ride to Lonavala amidst a humid morning. This is a short video from that ride.

The rains have set in to Pune and we headed out to Lavasa for a spin on Saturday morning to get our fill of green candy.
