Guys, with many groups planning for Leh this year, which one would be the HX-6?

What's the criteria? Any rules?

Or, would we have like HX-6A, HX-6B and so on

And, BTW, what is the full form of HX?

. BTW with a Tank full i can cover say max 230Km. I hope i can manage the load on the saddle bags i am planning in mod section. i might need more info as to how many gas station one can see on the way to LEH, perhaps the distance between them.

On to the broken rocky slushy mountain roads and you might get 150 KM range or less. You might want to carry a 20 liter can for petrol. At one place it is like ~350 KMs for next fuel station.

The weight only makes it more difficult to handle in slushy & no road kind of places but you can still do it.

You may want to try and see how much further you can go after Manali towards Leh and if it is turning out to be problematic then take a U turn.

@Hydbiker-HX has nothing to do with Leh.It was a ride started by Bunny and we had 5 such rides earlier and he was part in each one of them.Initially it was Himachal X(E)plorers but with the inclusion of Leh last year it became Himalayan X(E)plorers.Now Bunny is not with xBhp so personally I feel that if there is a big ride planned by Sunny then it should be named HX.

@Sunny-Will wait for your take on the same topic.

I completely agree about the broken road, but let me give a perspective.

My p180, fully loaded, did 48-50kpl till Ambala. For the rest of the full trip, it averaged 45 all through the fully broken roads.

another set of boys (avy/p200) averaged 30 while ripping from srinagar side - while they got 40-45 while doing manali leh.

So your regular good (whatever that may be) average will happen, IFF you dont rip.

No offense , but due to technical failure we were running late and we were decided to reach keylong by all means so had to cross nallah in night .
Just shared my experience what it feels like crossing that particular nallah in night .

Whoa! I got an average about 45kmpl from my kodachadri trip. I guess i'll get 55+ figures if do leh!

There are plans. An All India trip is one of those "life" things that you can't get out of your head. Its on the cards - will definitely be passing through your nick of the woods for sure

Hehe I once got 56kmpl while testing fuel efficiency on my R15 with exact 1.9l of fuel, the bike ran 107 kms on a night ride as it ran dry completely the next day. Had a bottle of fuel with me to fill up to reach the nearest fuel bunk. That's the best i've got so far.
