Seriously yaar it was fun riding in the dark..and i had already over-taken most of the truckers..so the roads were empty too..

We had already spotted that here in Pune very long back once in KP..and not only RR Phantom..there were porsches, ferraris, audi and bmw were like "kilo ke bhaav"

Arre hurry up inder.. Vishwas sir already reached Drass.. waiting for you to catch up. And you still in ghazipur?

Kya Indy..yaha bhi 60+ k speec mai cruise karega...hurry up... Rip on.. Vishwas has reached Drass... he'll soon reach Changla.

But my bike didn't climb Chang La but paaji zoomed ahead there.

The preperation thingy is funny, since I dont know what all spares and geard he carried I wont comment....

Day 1: Delhi - Pathankot


Route for the day: Delhi - Ambala - Chandigarh - Ludhiana - Jalandhar - Pathankot

While i was all asleep in the morning..had to get up bcoz my phone was continuously ringing and on seeing, it was Vishwas who had been calling. They had reached the Nizamuddin station and since they were already knowing where to meet so they were heading to Gazipur where i was staying.

On reaching we all had a word with Aman, since he was riding with spidy and group so we all decided to start with our ride and head towards the destination for the day. In the meantime i was searching for a "mochi" to fix up my shoe since it was biting me. But, alas that bugger didn't have a solution to it and instead told to "oil/lubricate " it.

Prateek & Shaan took us to the delhi-karnal highway and from there we bid goodbye to our friends and we moved ahead from there. It was only some time on the highway and we started facing HEAVY cross-winds and the bike was pushed to the extreme left part of the road from the middle part of the road. So, had to shift the most of the body weight towards the right side of the bike in order to cope up with the winds. In between, due to all of these cross-winds my cruising speed dropped and i was lagging behind the group.

Vishwas and Rudra finally stopped once for me to catch up at some dhaba enroute..and we had breakfast there. In the meantime had a word with Aman/Alankar to ask about their plan.

After the breakfast, we left and were riding non-stop up-till Ambala. The weather up-till Ambala was VERY HOT..!! Had to take ample breaks to cope-up with the dehydrating body.. Due to this we took big halt for lunch at Ambala and relaxed our bodies there in the AC restaurant.

After the lunch break packed our bags and started our journey ahead. And now it was comparatively ok for us to cruise effortlessly..may be it was the food or it was bcoz we were used to the HOT TEMPERATURE now..

Withing no time we reached Ludhiana and then stopped by at the "Monte Carlo" showroom..coz Vishwas had to do some "bulk" shopping coz he had heard somewhere that there were "heavy" discounts at the factory outlet. But, on reaching there he realised that those discounts were only on "winter wear" .. so alas he had to return back empty handed..

After some window shopping we head further and finally reached Jalandhar outskirts by evening. Had a small "nimbu-paani" break. In-between i was having a gala time communicating in Punjabi after we had entered Punjab .. and i was actually enjoying those conversations

After that small break, it was getting darker and we head towards pathankot. Don't know what happened to me..i started riding fast than usual and ended up leading the group As Vishwas already told earlier may i got some "owl genes" during the trip that i always used to ride fast during the night time and also was pretty comfortable riding in night.

When we were some 50-60 kms short of Pathankot it started raining. So, with no option in hand we decided to halt for the night and found a nearby by marriage-cum-hotel and crashed for the night..

Day 2: Pathankot - Srinagar

Day 2: Pathankot - Srinagar

Route Taken: Pathankot - Jammu - Patnitop - Srinagar

Started off from that hotel pretty early at around 6-6.15am and started heading towards pathankot. I must tell that the road to pathankot from there was simply awesome..it was pothole less & smooth tarmac road up-till pathankot. In the meantime we searched a couple for restaurants too where we could have our breakfast..but couldn't find one till we reached outskirts..!!

After the yummy breakfast(my fav aloo paratha) we continued towards Jammu from where we were to reached Srinagar for the day. We all left at the same time and were cruising happily. In-between me and Vishwas stopped for fuel where as Rudra didn't see us so he proceeded ahead and we were to catch upto him later. But, couldn't locate him in the near kms so we stopped couple of times in between to call him..but he wasn't reachable..!! When we moved ahead from there..Vishwas was moving fast and as usual i was going at comparatively slow speeds. So, now i too was also riding away from the group and reached Jammu city alone

Then at the Jammu city exit we all met and moved ahead. In the meantime Rudra fuelled in at the pump at Jammu. And i clicked some pics..



After crossing Jammu city..we saw the 1st milestone how far "Leh" was from there.. Stopped by for a pic ..



And then starts around 250+ kms of ghats from there..a tiring job..at 1st it was very nice to experience such corners, such roads, such beautiful view..!! But, after riding some kms we had to encounter a lot of bad patches full of pot-holes and everything and so we were simply counting kms to srinagar..

Stopped in-between many times for pics, break, etc..












Once we were done with the those ghats..we were to enter Kashmir Valley via Jawahar Tunnel..!! Its a tunnel which connects the Jammu city to Kashmir Valley, and its about 2-2.5 kms long..!!! And on the other side of the Jawahar tunnel awaited the Kashmir Valley..wow..we were simply speechless on seeing the beauty of the place..check out the pics for the example..









After crossing that stretch we had a very nice and smooth road up-till Srinagar and we enjoyed cruising at high speeds on that stretch.. Finally by late evening we reached Srinagar and found a decent hotel for 600 bucks for 3 ppl..
