Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

You mean to say that your log is already burnt while cooking and still you are risking half of pune and mumbai overdoing it?

                            Day 3: Around Srinagar

Since this was our rest day we woke up aaram se by around 10-10.30 and got ready to witness the beauty of Srinagar .. And let me tell you we were not disappointed on witnessing it. It surely lives upto its name of "City of Lakes and Gardens".

View of the small garden outside our hotel

That's me having a "Continental Breakfast"

When we ventured out of the hotel, we first moved towards "Dal Lake" which is known for "The shore line of the lake, about 15.5 kilometres (9.6 mi), is encompassed by a boulevard lined with Mughal era gardens, parks, houseboats and hotels. Scenic views of the lake can be witnessed from the shore line Mughal gardens, such as Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir) and from houseboats cruising along the lake in the colourful shikaras."

We hired on shikara boat for 300 bucks for a to-fro trip to "Chaar Chinaar" which is located at the center of the lake. The ride to the lake and back was one hellava ride where i could experience the beauty of the whole place and mann it was simple awesome..!! "NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT"..!! We clicked a lot of pics enroute..some are below...

                            Rudra along side Dal Lake

                            Me along side Dal Lake

                            The life-line of Srinagar people..Shikara & House-boat..

The road along side the lake

                            Dal Lake

Some tourists spotted along side the lake

                            Vishwas

                            Rudra

                            Me

                            Some random images

Army personnel stationed at most places in srinagar

Finally a group pic inside the shikara

                            Vishwas in action

                            New-age poser boy

                            Going towards "Chaar Chinaar"

Ornaments shop on the go ..

The twins ride to chaar chinaar ...

Vishwas thinking to buy and Rudra buying the stuff

                            Aahh Finally..we reach our destination..

                            The on-duty officer..

                            View of the garden there..

                            Yours truly..

                            Some floral beauty

                            Our driver for the morning..

While on the ride back we asked the driver which was the best garden out of all 5-6 of them. He suggested "Pari Mahal" and on getting down from the shikara we headed towards the garden. The garden was simply marvelous and the view from there was awesome too. We could almost see the whole of srinagar and the surrounding mountains. Some of the pics clicked there are below..

                            Info about "Pari Mahal"

                            A helipad nearby

                            Anyone interested in Golf

                            A self portrait..

                            Night life at Dal Lake..AWESOME..!!

Once the visit to the garden was done we went for lunch and then Rudra and Me went to the mech for getting the oil change done (for me) and battery hunting (for Rudra). Once all was sorted out we all reched back to our hotel and enjoyed the dinner and went to sleep.

But, at around 1am vishwas woke up and told me to attend to a call..it was Aman who was calling and was hunting where our hotel was..i gave the directions and the whole gang was there within minutes. They all came in and directly went to the room. After that i left and they must have slept soon enough coz they were looking a bit tired as they had a lift their bikes over a BIG TREE which had fallen on road enroute srinagar.

Hope you all liked the pics..rest would be coming up soon..

Next: Day 4: Srinagar - Drass

                              Wrong!

Pardon me Mods but I dont agree to the Thread Topic- Loosing Biking Virginity.

I am amazed to see how can the moderators just approve a thread that is tittled like that. I mean, it is so wrong on the part of Inder to call himself Virgin ( wrt Biking).

Ok, now on the more serious note, I am seeing that a lot of our mates are getting Leh'ed, hah haa, they all are hell bent in loosing their VIRGINITY in the likes of Inder. I just can wait till September to go to Leh again. And want to be there before we have a 4 lane express highway with Pizza Cornors, KFCs, McDs and Nirulas Midway.

@ Inder: forget about the log, go ahead, send me the pics. Cant wait no more.

                              all cheers
