Pangong is quite far from Korzok. Korzok is next to Tso Mori. You cannot reach Korzok from Pangong if you start at 16:00

Roughly you are covering 3500Km. Assuming your bike gives 30KMpl, you'll need roughly 120l of fuel which works out to Rs8400 @Rs70/l
That leaves you about Rs2000/- per day.
      I would say perfectly doable.

It'll depend on the mileage your bike gives.

How many Km you get on a full tank?
The long stretches without any fuel station would be Jispa-Leh and Leh-NubraValley-Karu(slight deviation from Sakti)

On the Leh-NubraValley-Karu section it'll depend on where all you go in Nubra Valley. Have a look at the map below. Calculate the distance basedon where all you are planning to go.

                  Heya Fellas
This is my first post here, though have been as a leech (haha ), using xbhp to gather lots of info from here about various trips over past few years.

                  To: Moderators
I am not sure if I am posting this thread in right section. If not, please move/merge it to appropriate section. Thanks in advance.

Okies, so here are the details:
Me and my wife are planning to do Chandigarh-Srinagar-Leh-Manali-Chndigarh route in July. We are looking to form a small group (2 or 3 bikes max) if possible. Preferably, it would be nice to have another couple or two as travel companions. Please see below for quick details to evaluate if you would like to join us or not:

                  1. Our ride: Enfield Desert Storm 500cc

                  2. Dates: Departure from Chandigarh on 2nd July (It has been figured based on current weather forecast to avoid rains as much as possible.)

                  3. Itinerary: Detailed itinerary has been prepared. Quick points about itinerary:
                  a. Days: 14
                  b. Route: Chandigarh-Srinagar-Leh-Manali-Chandigarh
                  c. Key Targets to cover (apart from common ones like Magnetic Hill, Khardung La, Pangong Tso etc) : Nubra, Wari La, Marsimik La, Chushul, Hanle, Tso Moriri

                  4. Camera Gear:
                  Canon 600D with 18-135mm
                  Tokina 11-16mm (Hopefully)
                  Tripod
                  Remote shutter release, intervalometer
                  Polarizer, ND filter, GND filter

                  5. Riding experience:
Not much. Done a few small rides like Prashar Lake etc

                  6. About Us (Me and my wifey)
We are IT professionals, aged around 28. We are fun loving and very easy to get along people. Generally not fussy about anything except rude behavior. Also, we are not much finicky about food and stay preferences as far as it meets basic cleanliness standards. And yes, I do consider both of us to be pretty strong mentally and pretty adventurous.

Umm, I guess that's pretty much about it. If anybody (preferably couple) wants to group with us for the ride, please write back.

                  Cheers

                  • Travel companions wanted, Delhi-Srinagar-Leh-Manali-Delhi, Jun 22 - Jul 9 2015

                    Ladies, Gentlemen,

I'm looking for travel companions who are either riding or driving Delhi-Srinagar-Leh-Manali-Delhi between Jun 22 and Jul 9 2015.

                    Route:

                    My itinerary:

I will be riding my bike from Delhi (transporting it to Delhi by train). I'm not a 'speed demon/freak' but am not glacially slow either. The above itinerary is compiled based on speeds I'm comfortable doing and expect to do.

I'd like to keep the stay/accommodations as economical as possible just short of pitching my own tent, cheaper the better.

Would be glad to have some company either for segments of the trip or the whole trip.

Please leave a reply in this thread or PM me if you are interested.

                    Thanks,

You can if you want to camp out. Remember it is early in the season; so will be quite cold up there. I have heard that you can rent in Leh too.

                      2. i dont think so but still wish to ask, are there any places i would require permits? (mee indian, huh!)
Yes. See a little below in this thread.

                      3. Roads routes that require to carry extra fuel, i have one 6-8 liters cans and my Apache RTR 180cc has 15-16Liters capacity.
Many. Again see this thread few posts ago.

                      4. i cant wake up early in the morning myself, not even with multiple alarms in my mobile phone, not at all in cold times... what may i do?
Get a neighbor to wake you up. Or don't eat dinner. Hunger will wake you up.

Just been reading various travelogues for info and now I feel like adding Marsimik la to the plan.I'm just wondering whether it's doable around June end? Also Incase anyone else is planning to visit the pass, let me know, we can attempt it together. I'll be in Leh by the 26th of June and around it till 1st july ,post that I'll start on my way back. if all goes well, I can shift around my other plans to accommodate this one.

Info i would like to share:
1: for now i am going to this Road Trip all alone, few Riders i have talked to, i may join them later on, but not sure, Mostly i will stick to my plans.
2: if anyone wishes to join me, i would be happy to have company.
3: its fine if i have to ride 10-12 hours in a day in those himalayas... for normal highways i can go for full day & night riding, but need sleep after atleast 1.5days.
4: i would mostly prefer accomodation on low budget, and save for fuel and shopping.

                          That's it!!!
                          Ride Safe, Keepl Rolling..!!!!
1.No need for camping stuff..lots of stays options en route.Dont over burden yourself with unnecassry stuff.
2.You need Permit for Marsimik La and Mahe Bridge to go to Korzok.Rest of the places are exempted for us Hindustani.
3.You need petrol for approx 750-800 kms during your Leh-Moriri-Pang stretch. After fillling petrol at Karu, next pump will be at Tandi only. However there is petrol available at Sumdo village en route Moriri in Black Rates.

I do not want to come back to Leh from Pangong and then start for Karzok, from the maps, it seems that Karu is in the way and it has a fuel pump too..
