You, sir, are awesome. Thanks for your inputs

EDIT: A friend asked me to consider Tehri instead of khirsu, I thought what the heck, do both. So the revised plan stands at :

    Day1: Delhi-Lansdowne-pauri-khirsu

Day2: Khirsu-Srinagar-New Tehri-rishikesh Do some rafting in rishikesh if I'm accompanied with friends, else I'll push down till delhi/Stay the night someplace along the way if night falls.

    Day3: Rishikesh- haridwar- delhi

    Now some questions:
1.I want to add 1 day in this trip just to relax at any of lansdowne/Pauri/Khirsu/Srinagar/Tehri, which of these would be the best place to just hang out?

2.Where exactly is khirsu located? I don't seem to be able to find it on google maps. Is it between pauri-buwakhal or between pauri-srinagar

    3. What's the best route for Tehri from srinagar? I have two options as you can see from the map, either Srinagar-Dang Chaunara-Molnau-New Tehri OR Srinagar-Devprayag - Tehri

The problem with option 1 is I'd have to miss out on devprayag, and the problem with option 2 is the roads(lines on my comp. screen so far) don't seem so good between devprayag and tehri

Are the roads between devprayag and tehri manageable?

Khirsu is not that frequented so accommodation would not be a problem. The weather should be pleasent unlike Delhi in June. I would recommend staying in Khirsu rather than pauri. Pauri - Srinagar is 29 kms and the The Pauri - Khirsu ruote is around 25 kms.

Not an issue, khirsu has been recommended by some big names now (including you sir) so I'm gonna see what it has to offer. Is accomodation a problem in khirsu? Last time around we almost didn't get a place to stay the night at lansdowne, and just as we were about to head back to kotdwar, we decided to try our luck at the dharmshala and they had a room available. Something is better than nothing, eh?

How is Khirsu in june? I'm really hoping it's quite cold, sick and tired of Delhi summers.

Day 1, Delhi, meerut, kotdwar, lansdowne, pauri (halt at pauri for the night)

Day 2, do some sight seeing, maybe go down to lansdowne or there have been some mentions of a place called khirsu/khisru which is 20kms from pauri, maybe go there

    Day 3, pauri- devprayag- rishikesh-haridwar-delhi

I went till lansdowne last year at christmas and absolutely loved the place but now it is absolutely opposite in the yearly season cycle so I don't know what kinda weather I'll see there.

What suggestions do you need? The road is Shimla - Fagu - Kufri - Theog. It is 33 kms from Shimla. Some part of that stretch is bad.

    Hey!

Any suggestion for a hill ride over the second weekend (8-9-10) of the next month?

It would be good if the place can be a bit buzzy

Wait for around 9th-10th Sep for things to settle down. I also have a ride planned in during that period, but will have to relocate it seems.

For instance Batal - Gramphoo is closed and the Sutlej water levels have increased, near Rampur on the NH-22.

So I would strongly advise highlands of Himachal, atleast till August end.

Places like Kangra/Chamba/Dalhousie/Narkanda types are fine.

    This is FYI!
i am planning to roll upto chandrataal and return via rohtang la in the first week of september, but after your post it seems, it would be a tentative situation of roads after reckong peo and further at that time.

    Hi Guys,
Me and a couple of my friends were planning for a trip to LEH. But with the recent flash floods, we have to back out and postpone our trip.
So we were thinking, instead of cancelling our flight tickets (from blore) and bike rentals, do we hav any places arnd delhi for 8 days tat we can ride to.
All of us are from south and any idea's/help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sathya
