check Kasauli too. It has a lot to ride around. From Kasauli, you can go to Chail too.
Kasauli feels like a place that feels like it was designed for people who crave silence without feeling isolated. With its old churches, colonial pathways, and views stretching across misty ridges, Kasauli offers a kind of slow travel that’s becoming rare. There’s no rush here—whether you’re walking past ivy-covered homes or sitting at a café watching the fog roll in, Kasauli makes you slow down naturally.

I also recommend you stay in Sethan village, located only 15km from Manali and experience staying in an Igloo in Manali.

Re: 3-4 Day Getaways from Delhi
I've been to Vashisht, expecting something similar to Manikaran Saheb, but sadly, hot water spring in Vashisht stinks alot, very unhygienic place. I wouldn't really suggest going to Vashisht's hot water spring. Although if you do decide to visit Vashisht, there is a french couple famous for their authentic french food. Do try it! It was mind blowing.Originally posted by ken cool View PostThat is lovely. Now if you could edit your post to add a picture of the place, that would be the icing!
Vashist-Chandrataal is tough but gettable. Else, if you think it is too tough, spend the night at Losar and get back the next day. And then the following day back to Delhi. The hot spring at Vashist will soothe the tired body and the spirits in the evening will soothe the tired mind!

Are the roads safe for bikes if we encounter heavy rains by that time.

1-2 Days Delhi Getaways
I am just starting off my touring journey and was looking for some options around Delhi which I could visit in 1-2 days time. I am writing with Bike-Ride in Mind and for one day gateways near Delhi-NCR.
I was searching for some thread here which could detail such 1-2 day rides around Delhi. I found one such thread however more about rides in 3-4 days timeframe.
Did some googling and found this...I have collated the information I found on google and posted here....But in case if there is some other thread with same details the moderators can close this and point me to the other one.
Hope this helps all the rookies who are just starting off like me..
1-2 Days Getaways from Delhi
Sultalpur:- Sultanpur Bird century can be a beautiful spot if you love nature. A decent location
Damdma lake :- Dhamdma lake is a beautiful destination. It is a short lake and some adventures sports like trekking, boting can be doe here. One of the best Picnic spot near Delhi.
Rohtak Lake:- Rohtak lake is decent but I realy don't ride there. The road is not good. But it hs a + point. It has a zoo, which can be good for those who love animals. Zoo is no doubt the good One.
Alwar/Sariska Tiger Reserve:- If you love wild and nature, Siska can be good spot. Near Neemrana Fort Sriska Tiger reserve is spreaded across 879sq. kms and is a spot for wild animals like Tiger, leopard, Wild cats and a lot others. Sriska Tiger reserve is located at abou 200 kms from Delhi, 35kms from Alwar. if planning Sriska, you will have to leave early at about 4am, so that you canhit sriska by 7. This way you can also do Bhangarh along Sriska.
Siliserh Lake Alwar:- Truely beautyful destination and a must visit destination. Siliserh lake is in alwar district of Rajasthan and can be easly done in one Day.
Jaipur:- i don't think I need to write about Jaipr, But one day will not be suitable for jaipur. Jaipur can be a weekend destination. I needs a total 2 Day(48hours).
Agra:-Agra can be done easily fromDelhi, if you left early. Beautiful Road and the great Taj.
Mathura/Varindavan:- Mathura and arindavan is also a hot spot for one day ride. Total ride will be almost 500Kms, which can be done easily.
Kurukshetra:- Kurukshetra is the palace of the great fight of Mahabaharat and Bhadwadgeeta. Can be a good Ride on smoth NH1.
Morni:- Morni is the only hill station in Haryana. Very calm, natural and peaceful palace, and the feel of hill station and natural beauty makes it Awesome.
Bharatpur:- A land of forts and palaces Bharatpur holds fine treasures like Bharatpur Palace, which is a fine fusion of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The Government Museum here displays a fine collection of antiques, exquisite sculptures, and inscriptions. Lohagarh Fort or Iron Fort was originally designed to last the test of time. Rightly so, standing stoic even today, this fort is worth visiting for its sans glamorous look and appeal unlike other forts in the region. Its also known for Keoladeo Ghana National Park
Chhatbir Zoo near chandigarh - Dirve in Zoo. Must visit one. 250 odd kms. Start early will be back by 7 to 8 pm. Landmark - Left turn immediately after McDonald while going to Zirakpur.
Haridwar/Rishikesh - 220 kms
Pataudi Palace - 65 kms

Route planning from Delhi to Rishikesh
Hi All,
We are a group of 9 bikers heading out from Delhi to Rishikesh this coming Good Friday weekend. The bikes are Triumph Daytona, Triumph Thunderbird Storm, Kawasaki Z800, Triumph Speed Triple and Triumph Tiger 800.
We have zeroed in on Delhi - Karnal - Poanta Sahib - Dehradun - Rishikesh. (We will move right towards Yamuna Nagar on SH7 from Karnal and join NH72) If anyone has done this route please let us know the road conditions keeping in mind our bikes. Dont need bad roads with Daytona
Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: One day gateways from delhi?
Touring Itinerary topic approved.
On the west, there is Alwar and the Neemrana Fort Palace. Its a beautiful place to relax, have some fun, meet foreigners, but its slightly expensive. Not more than Rs. 2000 per head though, don't know about latest rates though.
Its about 110 kms from Delhi.
On the South-East, you can go to Agra, on the Agra Expressway. Its about 165 kms, but its an open speedy road. The Duke guy's gonna have a blast here.
On the North, there is Ambala, but I'm not sure about the visit-able locations.
If you speed up well, and start in the early morning, you could visit Nainital or Jim Corbett NP. But again, this might tire you, but it will be worth it.
More on this topic can be suggested by Delhi Xbhpians... MikLast edited by Samarth 619; 03-25-2015, 12:08 AM.

Re: 3-4 Day Getaways from Delhi
Well I did the trip to Rishikesh. Lesser crowd at this time and easy availability of camps. The roads between muzzaffarnagar and roorke are under construction otherwise it was ok overallOriginally posted by faizan.ali View PostHey Guys,
I am planning to visit Rishikesh during the coming weekend( Jan31st to Feb 2) . Is this a good time to visit Rishikesh ( It is ok if rafting is unavailable ) ? Should i be taking the default route shown in GooMaps ( Muzzafar nagar -> roorkee ->) or is there any other better route. I have duke 390 so please let me know if I need to be careful about anything. Any suggestions are most welcome.
