Lol, for sure man. We will. We'll the pachyderms were doing their own thing at the time I passed by. Wouldn't have been the case if it was a single elephant in the middle of the road.Originally posted by MavericK46 View Post
Hey John, I dont know if I can move the whole thing to a different thread. Probably ask the mods to do it. I never expected to write so much, otherwise I would've posted it in the Touring section myself.Originally posted by johnblr View Post

It would have been sensible to break the journey at mysore , get a hotel , leave in the morning at 4 and bk home in 2.5 hrs.
Cos 2-3 hrs of rest== better energy to push .
Anyways , nice ride there , U shouldn have wasted time on day 1 , try covering up as many kms in daylight nextime on.

Yeah, my idea was to break the journey at Calicut. Once that did not happen, I just thought, lets push it. The whole idea was, get to work on Monday comfortablyOriginally posted by santoosh View PostIt would have been sensible to break the journey at mysore , get a hotel , leave in the morning at 4 and bk home in 2.5 hrs.

. When I had planned it as a 2 day trip, just did not feel like extending it to a 3 day. Anyways, I surely think it would've made a lot of sense to break the journey.
Day1 my destination was Guruvayoor. I had to stay there for the night no matter what. I did loose sometime on Day2. Some unnecessary loss of time, thats where the mistake was.
P.S. I like your new signature

Agree with Santa there. Which is what Mithun and I did on our Kerala trip in December. We halted in Salem at around 9 pm or so en route to Bangalore. but noteworthy fact is, even after a hard day of riding, Mithun was raring to go all the way to Bangalore, and I was seeing stars.
If it wasn't for me, he'd have probably carried on.
Arjun, you didn't mention that I was supposed to accompany you.
Looking at your triplog, I am looking back at that weekend, and regretting the fact that I had to work. I'd have loved to be chased by elephants, single or committed

The truth is, you had a huge role to play in this, you are the one who made me ride alone.
Nevertheless, turned out to be one heaven of an experience!
About taking the stop, yeah, I think it would've been a very relaxed trip if I had taken that break. I'm glad I made it within the time limit though.
Dinner at McDonalds soon..
I have a complex now. With the number of Leh threads, I dont know if my own thread will be of any significance.Originally posted by pranay View PostAwesome details there, Arjun. Kerala is definitely a delight. A beautiful ride such as this I guess needs its own thread in the tourer section.sigpic

Riding through those roads in those conditions, I am sure it is of significance.Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View PostI have a complex now. With the number of Leh threads, I dont know if my own thread will be of any significance.
BTW, I wonder when will they start actually working on that horrible horrible stretch of road between Gundulpet and Mysore. I agree with you, it is absolutely horrible with blind humps and craters all the way. Extremely dangerous for motorcyclists, and on top of the truckers with high beams on our lane, riding in that stretch of road at night is as dangerous as it gets.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

During September will I be seeing one more Leh thread?Originally posted by pranay View PostRiding through those roads in those conditions, I am sure it is of significance.

That stretch was terrible man. There were times when I would stop my bike cause I was blinded. Like literally stop in the middle of the road. If I did not, even if there was a drop , I wouldn't realize. Hopefully someday they would repair that stretch man.
OT: When the hell am I going to see your bike? I have seen umpteen number of pics of your bike but I don't feel that content. This week I am 'driving' down the same route again till Calicut and will be back Sunday afternoon. Will call you to find out if we could meetsigpic

There are basically 2 routes to Goa. You can either take a slower but more scenic route Via Shimoga/Sagar/Honavar/Karwar (Link!)Originally posted by ericin View Posthi,guys.. i have a plan go to Goa from Bangalore on next September. 5-6 days. alone and i have a small problem.. which route i should go... my plan : Bangalore - Jog Falls - Goa ( NH 4- NH 206 -NH 17 ) .. can u help me some information about it ? or some route can better than it ?
Or
The other option is a slightly faster but more boring route via Chitradurga/Hubli/Dharward (Link!)
Have fun!

Since you are doing it in month of Sep the jog fall rout is best...... The rout via Hubli is dry...Originally posted by ericin View Posthi,guys.. i have a plan go to Goa from Bangalore on next September. 5-6 days. alone and i have a small problem.. which route i should go... my plan : Bangalore - Jog Falls - Goa ( NH 4- NH 206 -NH 17 ) .. can u help me some information about it ? or some route can better than it ?
In sep you can expect best view of Jog falls. - The rout from Jog to Honnavar is at its best. heavy vehicle traffic is blocked in this rout and you can stretch your arms and ride......Passion as Profession

^ Not quite sure I understand your question. If you can carry a spare tube, might as well carry the right tube for the rear."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller
