Re: Updates On Road Conditions in South India
Welcome. Always better to book before your ride. Suggest you give Citria a call and ask them to keep aside a room for you. Even if you don't show up, it wont cost you anything and if you do make your ride it will save you the hassle of hunting for a hotel at the end of the day's rideOriginally posted by sshinde555 View PostThanks for quick reply... just want to know is the room booking at Citria Star Hotel And Lodge tumkur need to do in advance or the room will be easily available there ?Ride To Live

Re: Updates On Road Conditions in South India
Update on this route, I travelled on this route from Bangalore to Hyderabad via Srisailam on 16 Feb 2019.Originally posted by pahnin View PostMaps screenshot
From Bangalore I took the Kolar road and then road to madanapalle, which is okay until Chintamani. After Chintamani it's very bad with sudden potholes etc, from madanapalle till rayachoti the road went next level bad, there's a lot of construction going on, not sure when it will finish but as I got closer to rayachoti it was quite okay, from rayachoti to Kadapa the roads were bliss, I was able to maintain 140 continuously even with some traffic, this is the same road that comes from Kurnool which I travelled earlier. From Kadapa I took a detour via lankamalla forest, going via siddavtam, till siddavtam it's village back road from siddavtam to badvel was a trailer for me what's about to come, nice empty roads via forests, although it was a bit hot because of approaching summer, I bet these roads will be quite nice for monsoon rides.
From badvel till bestavaripeta, nice deserted roads with hills on both sides, again I felt like I came in the wrong time, I would have enjoyed more if I came in monsoon. Not as hot as Kadapa but still warm. From bestavaripeta this road joins the Kurnool to markapur road, which had a lot of potholes and under construction at many places, I hope they finish the work on this road. After markapur I took the road to Srisailam, which is a village road initially then ghat road, which was nice, in Srisailam ghat it was colder than the other places so took some rest in the afternoon. I didn't enter the Srisailam temple area but took the Hyderabad route, from Srisailam some 50-60km I was on this Amazing road between forests but couldn't maintain high speed because of speed breakers and tons of monkeys. If I counted all the total number of monkeys lying on the road just chilling in the middle of the road or at the road side it would easily cross 700-800. After getting out of the ghat, Telangana roads started, newly built straight and long, I had set my destination as Gachibowli, there are multiple routes you can take till Shamshabad I just blindly followed what Google showed me, roads were nice but as it was dusk time, visibility was not that great because of the full beams of vehicles, so I reached Shamshabad (airport are of Hyderabad) slowly, Google took me through a route via Shamshabad and via Himayat Sagar road going parallel to the Hyderabad outer ring road and reached Gachibowli around 8pm.
On the whole it was a nice experience, 720km total in a day, mix of all kinds of roads, good roads, bad roads, no roads, roads under construction. I probably won't take the same path again until the under construction routes finish, will definitely go for the badvel to markapur road and the Srisailam ghats in monsoon next time.
Coming back from Hyderabad I started from Hyderabad, on 18th Feb 2019 morning 4 am reached Bangalore by 11:30 am, except for the bumpy road between Kurnool to Anantapur I was able to maintain above 130kmph speeds comfortably. Also finished 20k kms odo on my dominar [emoji3577]
Hoping this update helps anyone who searches for this route. I know it's a very less travelled path but anyway. Happy riding folks.
