I also want to change my both tyres on my Yamaha R15. I want to know about the fitting of the tyres.

Do you think DIZ tyres can do a good job in fitting the tyres like SVC guys? Or should we take the tyres to SVC for fitting?

today i came across dunlop mystic 90/90-18 tyre while i was looking for front tyre for my ZMR but the dealer said that this tyre has 6PR rating while front tyres has 4PR and will make handle bar heavy. my question is how much difference will it make?
and is there any other option in 90/90-18?

Yesterday I brought my 9 year old Victor to Pune from Mumbai. While driving at 60 suddenly I got a puncture, it was horrible time bringing the bike under control and I was very lucky that I didnot fall and the trucks on the highway were not very close to me.
Learnings and findings:
1) The tube had both a puncture and a Broken valve neck area on the tube. The tube was a 3 year old Dunlop tube without a single prior puncture on it. The bike is seldom driven in the city in the last 3 years as I have a new RTR180 after 2010. -Tubes dont last long! I really dont know the reason why the valve neck area has to break always for me. I rarely remember repairing punctures. If it happens nearly 95% of the time I had to replace the tube with some local make from the puncture walla

2) A tubeless tyre is a must in such instances. It can save your life.The tyre is a 9 year old tyre which I havent replaced as the bike was not running much. But when I saw the deflated tyre it had developed cracks all over not visible in inflated state.

Another help required:
Now I want a 3 x 18 inch tube type tyre (as my bike has spokes). I dont do regular offroading but what I want most from the tyre is Wet grip on tarmac. I dont want to upsize too much (slight will be Ok) because the engine is old and might not be able to take up the extra load easily.

Now I want to replace my tyre and I am confused.

Changed the rear tyres of my XCD 135 to MRF MOTO-D 100/90-17 size..They have been recently introduced in the 100/90-17 size,and from the first impressions,it seems money well spent.It grips like anything....It has superb traction even on wet and gravel surfaces,and are far better than MRF Zapper C,TVS Jumbo and Eurogrip tyres.Set me back by Rs.1600[2000 for new tyre&tube-400 old MRF ZapperC buyback price].

For ZMR if you don't lean in corners much, then Stock Front tyre is decent. MRF Zapper FS.


I would suggest MRF Zapper C offers best combo for onroad dry and wet grip.
If you are going for Sirac, try to get sirac street

Avoid MRF zapper Y. too much aquaplaning. useless in wet and gravel

Changed the stock revz after 19k kms. It was a good tyre, did crazy cornering everyday but it did not slipped for even once.

After 19k right side was getting bald, but still it was good for some thousands of kms more, didn't wanted to take any chance So, changed to Dunlop tuff grip 140/70


Ran 50kms on new tyre, tried some cornering and braking(no wax on tyre) and felt like stock revz
Changing direction is more easy now because the tuff grip is more 'U' shaped and the revz was kind of flat.

They are exclusive dealers of MRF tyres. Must be the reason for them being well stocked.


I have got my bike tyres changed only once, & that was done at Diz Tyres.
I would like to believe that a good tyre showroom would do a better job in fitting tyres, than the SVC.

Diz Tyres does seems like a good dealership to me. Green signal from my side.
Will also save you the hassle of carrying the tyres around town.

Bike : Pulsar 220 - 1.5 yr old - 24k k.m. done !

Need to change the Tyres now and not getting the MRF Zapper's anywhere.
Tried to conact more than 20+ MRF dealers through Justdial.
But all said "MRF isn't sending the tyres to us from last 3 months."

And those who have in stock anyhow, are saying MRF : 2.2k for Front & 2.8k for Rear.

1 Shop owner quoted Pirelli tyres at the price of :
Pirelli Front : 110/70-17 @ 2.2k
Pirelli Rear : 130/80-17 @ 3.4k !

Actual (Current) Pulsar 220's tyre size :
Front : 90/90-17
Rear : 120/80-17


Shall I get the Pirelli Tyres ?
Hows the grip in normal day usage and over wet ?
How's the life span ?



Seriously I can feel my bike crying now for the tyres.
The sprocket went Kaput* coz of tyres and now chainset working weird too, its been a month now that I'm searching for tyres.
But yes Its my mistake, I felt a bit busy + lazy sometime.

Pirelli's are damn good Tyres, by seeing the size I think you are mentioning Sport Demon Models.

They provide excellent Grip in both Dry and Wet conditions. The price seems to be a steal , here in Bangalore the guy said 3800 for Rear tyre.

That is one down side for Pirelli , for the excellent grip they use softer compound for the tyre construction. The ware and tear is higher in softer compound.
Being said that it should serve you good for close to 10K-15K kilometers.

Before that , please make sure that you are OK , with the tyre size changes . Slight differences might be visible in pickup & Fuel Efficiency.

P.S: I haven't used a pirelli so far, planning to get a couple of them in the near future though..

want to upgrade to slightly bigger tyre, that is why im asking about 90/90 the stock is 80/100. i would have gone with 2.75 sirac street but the problem is that it is TT tyre.

i need the best available set of tyres for my RTR160 cuz i don't find regular TVS tyres so trustworthy enough while cornering or even while braking effectively once got wet the specs are front- 90/90 R-17 and Rear- 90/100 R-18... now i need tyres the better ones which i can trust on and the new req. for the rear is 90/120 R-18

I own Pulsar 150 Dtsi 2006 model, clocked 50,000 KMS.
Currently i have MRF Meteor on my rear wheel of a bike.
Now i am planning to change to MRF Zapper Q, since i have heard that it is good for wet surface.

So let me know whether i am taking the right decision or should i stick to MRF Meteor tyre.

i am planning to change the tyre of my rear wheel form MRF Meteor to MRF Zapper Q.
Please let me know should i change tyres for both the wheels (Front and Rear) at a one time or should i change only rear wheel tyre since front wheels tyre seems to be fine ?
i want to know this because after changing my rear wheel tyre i should not feel wobbliness after after some months since it might be the time to change the front wheel tyre as well

Please help me out as soon as possible since i am planning to change the tyres tomorrow itself ?
