Which would be a better option in MRF, Zapper Q or Zapper Y or Zapper C or Mogrip tyres. Looking forward for zapper Q, but just want to know how good they are against punctures.?

Also will 110/90*18 Zapper Q(easily available than 100/90*18) be a direct fit on Hunk or it needs some modifications?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Ashwhin.
Im using a michelin sirac street 100/18 on my pulsar 150 classic
The tyre is awsome in dirt, good on dry tarmac
Unbelievably good on wet sludge and ok in wet tarmac
If you are a sedate rider and dont go over 100 then its good.
Tvs made michelins are at par with zper c and qs
Muxh better than tvs euroslips and crapchakras.....
Zapper q if you can source is also good!
And it might not be a direct fit
You might need to cut the chain cover... not sure but. Hunk owner might tell you better.

        Hello buddy
        How are u?
        Hope alls well...
        Now,
After the rule that all tyres sold in india need to be isi approved so that they meet standards and are safe, a lot of companies had to pull out of the market, irc, thailand make michelins etc
This was basically done because indian companies were loosing share to foreign companies and hence they made the govt, pass this rule. We all know tyres by pirelli need no isi certificate!
Now all of them do, hence michelin outsourced its tyre manufacturer to tvs.
But tvs just makes the tyres ...they are designed and quality controlled by michenlin hence they cannot be too sub standard.
Now why do most cheap bikes come with tvs tyres? Because its a cost cutting method. They are cheap and hard wearing, grip is not what everyone wants! Unfortunate isnt it?
        Chek out real vfm bikes
Yamaha szr, discover 150, p150, new p135s, apaches, pulsar 220 now comes with euroslips and even the p180, even the 200ns!!!
Its just a cost cutting method.

          Iam ok buddy,
Hope all's well on your side also,

You have pointed out quite important aspects,i don't know what are the rules made by ISI, but the thumb rule should be that a tyre should give good grip whether in dry or wet, should be reasonably reliable.

Is it that the companies who pulled out from our market felt that ISI is no one or haven't got the ability to judge there product, or they felt that an Indian company should be chosen to deal with our substandard governmental system, and hence they chose Tvs and outsourced the manufacturing process to them,

Yes mostly(not everyone there are bro like you also) people wants a tyre which should keep on going forever, when it comes to tyres or tubes people never care there tyres, tyres only comes in notice when it gets punctured or starts malfunctioning in any other way.

And don't you think that by providing cheap tyres to cheap bikes Tvs is spoiling his name, or they must be feeling that when it comes to aftermarket there tyres don't sell that much so supplying tyres directly to companies as an oem supplier, at least then can keep there tyre business running.

Tyres are the most important part of any automobile because if the tyres are not there where they need to be then you are going nowhere.

cost cutting should not be on the cost of safety.

            Exactly brother.
            Look at the duke 390
It comes with metalezer costing 15 grand!
And yet the bike is powerul and better than all other bikes double in price range.....

Also I was on ebay.com the other day and I saw a tyre softer compound that day. Rub it on your tyre and it makes it softer and more grippy! Dont know if it works but tvs should use it
Afaik look at ceat! It makes hard compound tyres as well as soft compounds in similar sizes and lets the coustomer choose what it wants.
Why cant tvs do that too and increase their market share?
Tvs is slow with everything...... we all know that

              Right bro,

Even the royal enfield continental gt is coming with pirelli sport demon tyres, so it feels that motorcycle manufacturers are realising that for premium product you need premium tyres, and that's good that's good for the customers, customers who are knowledgeable and understands the tyres,

Tvs are not even able to increase there two wheeler market share, then how come they will be able to increase there tyre share, and that too at a time when are so many foreign players in the market with there world class product.

Either Tvs is slow or the same old attitude (sab chalta hai sab bikta hai).

Guys just a request keep your tyres a bit low on air say 2 to 4 psi just voz its so hot and the air in the tyres will expand.
I gt 27 psi in the frot and later hecked after an afternoon ride it was 35!

Thank's bro, for reminding, one can also fill up with nitrogen, although the availability of pure nitrogen is suspicious.

Problem with nitrogen is say you pop up a leak or something some where and you need a topup I have heard it shouldn't be topped up with normal air not sure why.
                          Any pointers?

Yes it is said that you should not mix nitrogen with air, what i know is that mixing nitrogen or oxygen or air will not react at normal temperatures, (inside an engine it creates a chemical reaction which can result in acid rain).
The reason for not using air and nitrogen at the same time is one will not be able to get equal amounts in each tire, at the same pressure and temperature (why?) because air weights 3% more than nitrogen does, and so the tire will weight differently, which in turn can or will affect handling although slightly, your two wheeler or car will steer to one side more and more steering or handle effort will be needed, if you have mixed your tire with air and nitrogen you stil are having one benefit which is, the mix has less water vapour and oxygen than tire which are entirely filled with air, plus you have shell out more money even for the topup of nitrogen, as against the air which is cheap as free.
