    • Front tyre for my Honda CB Twister 110.

      Hello fellow xbhpians!
I've done 30K Km on my 2011 White Honda CB Twister and the front tyre has completely worn out. Its a 70/100-17 TVS tyre. My query is which should be the best tyre of same size or a bigger size. I'm from Alwar, Rajasthan and only MRFs and Ceat tyres are only available here.
Looking forward to your valuable inputs.
I'd like to get it today or tomorrow so help me ASAP.
      THANKS

The offer is for Pilot Road 2 which has specific profiles and not all Michelins are covered under this scheme.

          Cheerz!!

Finally money has been arranged & going for tyre change tomorrow for my 200NS. However, I am in serious dilemma regarding rear tyre between Michelin Street Pilot Radial & MRF REV-Z. As per my online research, Michelin costs Rs 2,500 extra. All I want to know whether that excess money is really worth spending or MRF should serve the purpose. Also, met a fellow NS rider today at Auto Service & he was very much happy with MRF but he did point out that it's highly prone to punctures. Guys pls help

Mrf rev-z has amazing dry grip but on wet surface its grip vanishes.. i have friend's r15 with same rear tyre and hence experience..
Well that being said its soft compound tyre and will be prone to puncture..
Street Pilot radials have better grip in both dry and wet conditions compared to rev-z...
Got this experience on a cbr and owner said that Michelin also helped him to reduce braking distance by a bit..

So inshort of you think spending 2500 extra for better dry and wet grip is worth it then by all means go ahead or else rev-z gets the job done..

My brother is really happy with Michelin on his FZ & even he said that braking distance has reduced. So I guess it will be Michelin.

                      • Apache RTR 160 18" rear rim change to 17" rim.

                        QUERY MERGED

                        Hi,

                        I have a Apache RTR 160 (2007).

I had upgraded the rear tyre from 100/90 18 to 110/90 18 (Zapper Q TT). I have a better ride with this change. Did this some 4 years back.

I was on a recent Solo Bike trip and felt the need for a TL tyre,
Sharing a part of me: Planned unplanned trip 2 - Nov 27th to Nov 30th 2014

I am not able to find a TL tyre in any company. Only option I have is to go for a 100/90 18. Which I am not inclined to after having a better experience on 110/90 18.

Next is the complex option which I want your opinion.

I have better tyre options on 17" rim.

                        - So I need to change the 17" rim.
                        - To change the 17" rim I also need to change the Brakes as 17" rim does not come with drum brake but only the Disk option.
                        - To change to the disk option I also need to change the swing arm holding the tyre and brake.

The service center (Authorised TVS service center) I checked with in Chennai does not have any experience in it. But they are ready to help me.

I would like to know if anyone out there has any experience in this upgrade. I will go ahead with this upgrade if anyone can point there is no downside to this upgrade option.

If I am going this route, I am also thinking why not change to the Yamaha Fz rear set-up.

Any help in this direction will be much appreciated.

                        Regards,
                        Hari Prasad Srinivasan

What is the difference between front tyre and rear tyre,
as in all manufacturers list front tyres and rear tyres separately why?

I am asking this question because i wish to fir MRF Zapper Q 90/90-18 as front tyre on my suzuki GS159R.

For Suzuki GS150R, recommended front size is 2.75-18" by inches standard, in metric standard it's 90/90-18". Go ahead with Zapper Q 90/90-18".
Note, spec rear tyre is 100/90-18".

I think they're often of different sizes for better handling.
