      Finally went to michelin store to check if there is anything suited for this, but there was none in 3.00-17"...so went ahead with zapper FS 90/90-17". Costed me 1800 for the tyre and 100 bucks for the neck as i switched from tubed to tubeless. MRF is playing well with their monopoly game in the premium Tyre market as i paid only the same for my rear Michelin M45 a few months back !!

        Need help!

        My RX135 currently running on MRF Nylogrip (2.50) and rear MRF Zapper 3.00.

        I'm planning to change the tyres. Though I'm not disappointed with MRF products over 12 years on my bike. I'm hearing many RX owners opting for Michelin tyres. Did scramble the net for information and then I came across Sirac Street (which caters for both city and off road). They come with size both front and rear for 2.75x18 and 3.00x18 respectively.

        If anyone could shed some light on the above if my investment will not go down the drain will be appreciated. If there are any other suggestions would be appreciated.

          I recently got Michelin M45 2.75*18" for front&Sirac Street 3.00*18" for the rear. The bike is Fiero F2.
          I am very happy with the tyres, especially the front one grips like a leech&has really given me back the missing feeling in the bike.
          The rear is still settling down, almost done (the shopkeeper said it will take about 400kms.to set). I had a larger tyre earlier so.
          If you are riding alone most of the time and looking for excellent grip, you can put M45 at both front&rear. Else Sirac Street is very good.
          However, I think RX stock sizes are 2.50&2.75, though most are running on 2.75&3.00 upsizes.
          Quench my thirst with gasoline!

            Thanks on your feed back. I always wanted to have good one on my bike. Since there are too many, off course, each cater to different requirement, thought it is better to get some advise on this.

            You mean to say it takes time to realize the difference between the other? Let me know if it sucks nails, my biggest worry. Heard few, while discussing on two stroke thread a while ago.

              Yes, Michelins are very good. It has not yet sucked nails, but eventually all old tyres will. My old GeoCruiser gave me hell in the last few months before I decided to change it. The tread was looking new, even after 32K kms.+of usage, but the rubber had lost its strength due to 4+years of use. That is why I have gone for a slightly harder Sirac Street for the rear.
              The shopkeeper said it will take about 400kms.to settle down.
              Why I'm taking a bit of time to realize the difference is because I was running an upsized 100/90/18" all this while. I have reverted closest to stock size now of 3.00*18".

                Which is a good dual purpose tyre for 17" alloys. Front and Rear. Does Michelin have any 17" dual purpose tyres available now?

                  Are you looking at tyre options for your R15? Neil (neil.jericho) is the person to ask.
                  I would suggest you to wait till the new R15 comes, the spy pics indicate different rubber.
                  As of now the options available in stock size are Pilot Sporty (against special order), and Pirelli MT75. The stock tyre is too soft.
                  Another option in stock size is Ceat Vertigo, but that is a button type offroading tyre.

                    Guys,

                    I need suggestions for tubeless tyres for my Honda Unicorn. Rear is a 100/90-18" and front is 2.75 - 18". Apart from Michelin M45 which is a tube tyre, are there any tubeless tyres for this spec? I need a tyre for both rear and front. The old ones are already 35k kms old and I skidded off recently due to the worn out tyres. So this is a bit urgent for me.

                      You can run michellin m45 front and rear tubeless as we are doing it here in mumbai. you need to check if thats possible there.

                      other options for rear tyre:
                      Michellin Pilot sporty ( tubeless) 100 90 18, cost 2000-2200
                      Pirelli Sport Demon ( tubeless) 110 90 18, cost approx 2000

                        If it is among the 2 than pick the Pirelli. Surprising that Michellein is more expensive than the Pirelli. Also, the Pilot Sporty's grip is shaky. Not good.

                        BTW, are the M45's working good as tubeless?
                        They are made for tubes but we know that a tube type Sirac works very well as tubeless too but not sure about the M45.

                          + - 1 . Pilot sporty if very good on tar and cement roads better than the M45, but put it on a light gravel surfaces and it goes from excellent to horrible. The M45 is a true all round tyre for our indian roads, but it wears out very fast.

                          By the way my friends unicorn has the M35 2.75 * 18 at the front and M45 3.25 * 18 at the rear, amazing grip, my friend was amazed at the feedback the front tyre was giving, it makes you push the bike to its limits.

                              a friend did a rajasthan tour on m45 tubeless no issues_

                              i did 28,000kms on my zma with m45 tubeless no issues

                              a friend did 40,000 on cbz xtreme with m45 tubeless no issues

                                hyd biker : chck locally if some one can make m45 tubeless for u, even with tubes its excellent tyre..leech like grip
