Don't own one... Friend has it... Had brought it on TR in 1993... Still in excellent condition... Has forged wiesco pistons, dynojet, V&H exhaust, sbs rotors and break pads... Have told him that if he ever thinks of selling, he has no option but to sell it to me...

^^ this will be a more reasonable move...also justifies the extensive testing and delay..IF it is true...
But whats with all the claim about a "fat free design" which they used to make back when they released the R15...they said that the bike was just built for a 150cc engine with no intention or ??possibility of a bigger heart transplant in the future..all that was BS?? or are they totally altering/upgrading the framework for a bigger engine which is quite not that easy/fast a process....
may be its just the same engine tuned a little for more pull and power...

i think you are talking about Mio and BW125....i thought BW125 was supposed to release mid 2011

Got to hear from a member in the Yamaha supply chain (I'm sorry I can't be more specific) that the new R15 will come with a bigger heart (hence it won't be an R15) and will come by Feb-Mar 2011.
Yamaha will also introduce a scooter, and are currently deciding between 2 models. The scooters will be powerful & will be equipped with disc brakes. IIRC, the names of the 2 scooters are Nio & BTW (or something like that).

looks like externally nothing will be left of the original design...a total remodelling...

one more thing...the pic from a tamil auto mag someone had pasted earlier also mentions about a FZ220...now this could be another wild speculation but if you look at the R15 spy pic posted by vaibhav earlier, there is also a fazer being tested...somehow there was no talk about the fazer, r15 took all the limelight...i've marked in red the region near the rear wheel which appeared different to me compared to the existing fazer...i could be entirely wrong....but whats the forums take on this

to me it looks the same .. check it still have drum brake at back wheel .. i don;t think 200+ cc bike might sports drum brakes especially from yamaha

^^ it looks cluttered at that resolution...need to compare with a clear fazer pic....anyway whats with the testing...unless there is some change...

well... actually... it's pretty obvious that the FZ has a drum brake at it's rear wheel. the silver linkage is clearly visible.

The speculated "new" FZ variant could get the 225 cc/19 Ps engine of the Scorpio Z which is found in Indonesia.

After all the R15 is nothing but a full faired and slightly more powerful variant based on the Indonesian V-ixion.

even the Indonesian 223cc scorpio z 2011 model seems to sport rear drums....may be rear drums don't completely rule out a 200+cc fazer in the spypic...

Thats a good news atleast for me....I always thought the projecter headlamps were a must have in R15.
