when i saw it at Bandra...
the riding position looked virtually identical to the current R15.
it's the pillion who'll tire quicker on long rides.

yup. saw it on thursday.

was across the road... about 30 meters away.

didn't get a close look at the sticker.

These pics are definitely not spy pictures. I am 100% sure that yamaha is releasing these pics to build excitement and make CBR250 buyers wait for the new Yamaha Baby 'R'. Try to zoom in the pics, you wil notice that Rxx has been blurred out through photoshop to make it look like R45.

it does seem like an intentional blur dunnit.

Why would they want a KTM engine on a Cruiser! Thats like asking Tom Cruise to look happy! They have Kawasaki for that, and not so long ago when there was no CBR, Kawasaki DID mention that they are
1) Working on a bike based on the Ninja250 for India
2) That the cruisers from kawasaki could soon be around..

I understand what you are saying. In an ideal world a cruiser engine needs to be totally different and has to have a lot of low end torque. Nobody would be happier than me if Kawasaki designs something for the Avenger.

But Rajiv Bajaj's statement that all the Indian people know is:
"A relaxed riding position = a cruiser bike" really pissed me off.

That really explains why the Avenger has been getting Pulsar engines so far. I would not be surprised if they did the same thing again.

if the avenger gets the 350cc "newPulsar" (which will have a completely new chasis) engine...

the "new" Avenger 350 will need a serious make-over too.

on a serious note tho...
it's more likely that Kawasaki will come up with something in the cruiser segment.

As said above... i really hope that Kawasaki does something good for Avenger. M really fed up of Bajaj treating the Avenger like a red headed step child.

For ****'s sake the bike is the only entry level cruiser in the Indian market and it deserves a serious thought.

There have been lots of eliminator variants 125cc - 1000cc

It also reports that the EL175 was the one initially being sold by Bajaj. Looks like all Bajaj did later was plonk in the Pulsar engines and call it the Avenger.

I hope any one of the ZL400 (officially production ceased) or the ZL500 make an appearance in some form or the other.

Captain Koli Sirjee... I am not sure anyone of us has heard about these ever elusive bikes coming to India. Can you please let me know where and what did you hear about the rumors.

I would like to know more about them too.

the must be the biggest joke in indian auto industry....by now its pretty sure that yamaha is doing it intentionally....its time we let yamaha know that we dont care about leaked pics anymore...we need an official announcement soon....

true... but tho a 350cc might seem like an entry level curiser in india.

but by most people's standard... (depending on how it's priced)

this was back in September 2OO1.

Eliminator eliminated. Avenger priced sub 70 grand.

well your comment is in poor taste xionite and i got lots of kriptonite i only keep asking cus i smell a cbr600rr and r6 are on the way to india by diwali 2011 source the net +teambhp+xbhp i want a i4 badly and im sitting on lots of moola rite now which was kept for cbr1000rr so now you get the catch 22 position i am in
@badwolf check the fz1 thread on xbhp they got some news about cbr600rr and r6 and teambhp also have some info.

Also, If you have the dough to buy a CBR1000RR.. then why are you looking at CBR600RR and the R6? If I were you I would have called the honda wing world by now and finalized everything.

From the reviews I have read CBR1000RR is the best SBK to ride around in Indian traffic... much better than the R1. Go for it and forget about the 600cc segment.

well i have lots of bad habits and wildlife photography is one rite now a use a nikon d700 with 200-400mm nikkor lens but want a 600mm nikkor lens which is 6-7 lacs in india so if i save 5-6 lacs on my cbr600rr then i get my dream lens and i4 dream bike (cbr600rr 8-9 lacs and cbr1000rr 15lacs in india)
