A friend of mine recently use the Turtle wax Hard Shell Paste Wax. The results were good for the price. He bought it from some shop at a petrol pump. I saw the pack and it looked original and after looking at the result was satisfied. So on a budget this product is also good for what it does.
But like RG said watch out for fakes, try to locate authorized dealers. Many of these products like Meguairs have a FB page where you can ask for suggestions and contact details of the authorized dealers in your area. For day to day cleaning you can use the Quik detailer costs around Rs.300 and use a good branded wax once or twice a month as per your convenience.
For the NS even a small pack of Turtle Wax paste wax (270 gms) will last more than a year since it has very little painted areas.
I would suggest to stay away from any product that mentions Polish in its name and only stick the ones like paste wax, liquid wax, carnauba wax.

Yes totally agree with you RG on this. That is totally upto the users preference. For me on the NS, the bottle of Collinite will last for almost 2 yrs even if i use it once every 15 days and i am ok with waxing it once every 15 days, well, if i have the time. I can get around with just using the Turtle Wax Hi-Gloss Protectant for a quick wax shine and half the effort. Meguairs don't have an authorised dealer in Calcutta. So i'm not going to go hunting for an original product throughout the city...lazy me
And I have ended up buying Collinite liquid wax as suggested by RG.

Review of Collinite 850 Metal Wax

Yet another miracle product from Collinite
I'd some metal & plastic surfaces, the shiny part of turn lights on Yamaha Rx, the exhaust, Bessel ring of the headlamp, chrome spoke wheels, alloy foot pegs on CBR 250R to name a few, whose surface was not clean despite washing with ONR, using Petrol, Diesel & Kerosene washes. I was confused as what might work to remove the tiny rust marks, restore the shine & not cause harm.
That is when this product was suggested to me; application is simple...
1. Remove as much dust/dirt as possible using plain water or solvents like ONR
2. Apply a small quantity of liquid wax on to the dirty surface
3. And rub well with a piece of cloth
Voila!!! The rust is gone, metal shines like new & what's more? The protection is for longer duration & repeating this process for some other time is even simple.
However, do not expect the years of rust over metals to be removed immediately or to be fit & fine shine, that's not going to happen unless it's chromed again, but that's understandable. You'll also need lot of cloths to clean as you'll be surprised how much impurities & dust will emerge when wiped even on a clean metal surface.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Hope i have to come to the correct thread for my bike's rusting issue. i would like to coat or spray a paint so that i dont anymore rusting from that place again.In four places i am facing this issue.1
1.Right side front fork
2.Left side front fork
3.Between the forks - center part(round shape)
4.Number plate holder- Paint peeling
And it is a one month old 200NS so that i can approach SVC to replace or rectify the same under warranty.Any solution is welcome as it is normal in today's motorcycle

I am not sure how much correct i am but places which are closer to the seas tend to face such issues i.e. rusting etc. And since Chennai is close to Bay of Bengal some bikes do have such problems of rusting. You can opt for a part change but i dont know if this will avoid the problem completely.
places like number plate holder etc. can be painted without any problems, but areas like under the front fork you will have to remove the fork completely in order to effectively cover the area. the paint between the front fork area will continue to peel no matter how much you paint them since it is constantly in contact with the cables/wireing which creates friction whenever the wires move out of place due to bumps, handle movement etc. etc.
If you are not able to DIY then take it a professional painter.
I am assuming that you park your outside. Keep it covered whenever possible. Try not to wash daily. Keep dirt / mud as low as possible whenever dirty.
Nothing else coming in my mind at the moment.

Hey all. I have gone through the thread. And I cant spend too much on detailing material as I'm just a college student and I can't ask my parents to spend the money. But, spending 400 bucks for a stupid Teflon coat everytime I want protection seems preposterous. Can you please tell me some stuff I could get within my saved up cash, which amounts up to 1.5k right now. It might seem meagre. But I can maybe get another thousand.

Disclaimer - Though I haven't used any products from Silicone Liquid Polish, Bikes Dashboard Polish, but I believe their products should do their job due to the manufacturer's reputation.
Remove excessive dirt/mud or degrease your vehicle
1. CAR SHAMPOO - Then use this to wash your vehicle thoroughly & then rinse to remove the soap foam from the paint surface
2. BIKES LIQUID POLISH - Use this if you want to remove the mild swirl marks/scratches (very very mild) from the paint work. Note that this does not require a DA or rotary machine, can be removed just with hand + MF or good & clean cotton cloth. Better is clean MF. This product needs to be used only once or so in a while & when you see excessive swirl marks & keep using #3 often
3. MOTOMAX CREAM POLISH - Use this on a regular basis to bring shine on your polished surface
4. PROTECTANT SPRAY - Use this on plastics & rubber surfaces to prevent them from getting faded
5. BIKES DASHBOARD AND VINYL POLISH - Not sure, but per the description, this should restore the already faded parts of your vehicle to shine. Personally, I would expect a bike part that is faded for over 6-8 months period to be restored & anything more than that, I've no say. This product is also to be used only once & keep using #4 often
6. BUMPER BLACK - If you've any black parts like plastic chain guard, tire hugger, then use this product. Use this only on black surfaces compared to #4 that is on all surfaces
7. TYRE FOAM - Needless to say to get the tire dressed; to bring the rich black wet finish on the tire

Compare the scenarios of someone staying at Kodi/Ooty & keep riding everyday versus the bike that is taken once in a while out at busy street right in the mid of city. I've listed the products that can be used along with their purpose. Pls use discretion to choose the one you need based on your needs.
Like I said before, I haven't used any of these products, but I believe they should do no harm due to manufacturer's reputation & hence I cannot comment on the cost; however, I ASSUME they should fit your bill. Just had a thought, not necessary that this is the best approach though...
Get #1, #3 for now (use them in sequence as mentioned above). If there're plastic parts (for black #6), get #4. After a while, if you feel there're quite a few swirl marks OR if you have spare cash, get #2. And depending upon your spare cash, get the remaining items.
