Bike Mileage

At my 5th service, my carb was completely opened cleaned. bike's mileage has fall sown from 48 to 40 since den. also they hav made the throttle hard. wat hppnd? way mileage falled? is it due to rich mixture or hard throttle setting. AND also, wen after a long drive, i put my bike to neutral, RPM STICKS TO 2000 instead of idle 1200. THIS ALL IS HAPENNIN AFTER CARB CLEANIN AND THROTTLE SETTTING.

Get the idling set-I think that should solve all your problems!

YEP, throttle was hard. Got adjusted today(actually few mins back), bike is back to normal (THANKS GOD),also idling n air-fuel mixture is also adjusted. Bike is giving a better note and feels better while driving.

((took a KARIZMA friend of mine wid me for a drag after the adjustments. Mann dis bike gives a neck-to-neck competition to karizma, atleat till 60-70.

How to Increase Mileage irrespective of your bike/riding condition

I would like to share how to increase the mileage for your bike and I am not gonna give advice about tuning setting, or ride at economy speed, remove the saree guard, maintain tyre pressure, servicing bike in time, extreme use of clutch, etc, etc.

These are the the things which usually increase the bike's mileage and you are very well familiar with it but I want to add something more which will surely increase your bike's mileage atleast by 2km minimum before what you got.

Let's start then


USE CHOKE..........Many bikers boast about their bike with their friends that my bike starts with single kick early morning (cold start) and I don't use choke etc. etc.

But I tell after you and your bike slept all night for 6-8 hours and you both wanna start your day.....Kick start your bike by holding choke and don't throttle

Let it go for 15 seconds, even if it irritates your neighbor but your bike will like it.........Let your bike's engine get well lubricated....Let it get warmed up, just as Usain Bolt warms up before his 100 m race.

Now after doing this, now ride the bike for atleast 5 kms without using too much throttle. ( I mean don't zoom). Keep your nerves cool atleast for 5 km

After 5 kms you can go in your own way..................

That's it ...............

You will have extra mileage and also you are maintaining the life of your bike's engine.

My uncle wants to add something to this

He wants the petrol knob to keep it off when the bike is not running.

and I don't know how much it works but surely it is good idea for old bikes because we don't know how the petrol may evaporate.

Bajaj XCD 125 (Oct 2007 bought) gave me 70kmpl for the first year as I was doing only commuting means 40-50 of average speed.

But since 1.5 years I have been into ripping the engine to the most means 90 even crossing speed indicated 100kmph its 50kmpl now....
