Yeah, These are the side effects...

But then, when you have more amount of clean air, and a larger ammount of fuel, the energy obtained will be more since the fuel is burnt more effectively.

If we could find a smaller K&N Filters, then maybe you can have the volume of air that dosen't make your engine run lean for the stock jets.

Besides, in India, allmost every component is designed with cost in mind. Even on Performance bikes like the Apache, KArizma, P220 mpst componenets that donot add to retail value rarely get improved. While adding a good Custom Designed K&N Filter will push the bikes further, manufacturers simply dont use them cause an increase in the price by 2000 is not justified by a good air filter, from the customer point of view...

Some people are refusing to pay an addl 9K INR for Fuel Injection and a Rear Disc Brake, when they know perfectly that both of these are far ahead of the carbs and drums.

But if you add a good fairing, some good stickers, and a radical new paint job and promote a cut down machine with some media hype and head turning looks, ppl wil gladly pay for it.

Sorry for going OT, But yeah K&N does make a difference.
It delivers more power for the same amt of fuel. and hence should theoritically give better mileage. But most people who add K&N Filters, rev hard and push their bike to its limits (Which would have increased wrt stock config) and hence stand to loose a bit of mileage

change to iridium sparl plug like the NGK. you will not find any performance improvement but overall it will last longer ensures better combustion and cleaner emission.

            NGK costs 550 a piece.

models are CR8EIX for the left side and CR7EIX for the right. that's what the NGK manual at their dealers suggest. but some people go for CR9EIX for the left side instead of 8, the reason being the stock plug on the right is RG6 and on left is RG4 which means a difference of 2 and to maintain this difference of two in the heat rating they use CR9EIX for the left and CR7EIX for the right.

visit this link to look for the dealer in your place.

the site recommends a CR9EIX for my P150. But it says that the only distributor is in Grant Road, Mumbai. Any idea where can i get original ones near Santacruz (W)? Also, what would they be priced in comparison to other brands?

                  DPR7EIX-9

oh and guys, the low resistance wire mod i was talking about, it seriously does produce RF interference. if you'd rev your bike even some distance away from a tv set, you would see lines on the screen and kind of hear the engine revving on tv. no kidding!

hey dude itz not DPR7EIX-9 for ZMA itz DPR8EIX-9 and for apache itz CR7EIX why don't u guyz visit NGK india site :- NGK

Apache:- NGK Partfinder for Two Wheelers

                  anyway gudluck.

                        Arun,
You could go to AMIT AUTO AGENCIES in J C Road area, he is the distributor for NGK spark plugs for 2 wheelers. I bought an IRIDIUM IX for my P180 classic from him. Just tell him the Bike make & he has this company catalogue, he'll refer to it & let you know the model no. If you want the exact directions you can call me at 98451 23554.
